The Montaboulins circular route via the Tacot route
Set off from the village of Alligny-en-Morvan to explore the Tacot railway line, which linked Corbigny to Saulieu from 1901 to 1939. Passing beneath the ruins of the Château de la Tour d’Ocle, after crossing the forest, the return journey follows a lovely path with a beautiful view over a stretch of meadows back to the village.
Mini tour of Lake Chamboux
Lake Chamboux is the newest lake in the Morvan, built in 1985. It covers an area of 75 hectares and a hamlet was submerged to create it.
The complete tour is 8 km long and takes about 2½ hours on foot. For those who only have about an hour, the route can be shortened by using two bridges.
The Saut de Gouloux from Lac des Settons
A hike through woods and fields that starts at Lac des Settons and leads to Gouloux, where you can visit a clog factory (booking required) before discovering the delightful Saut de Gouloux and La Cure waterfalls further on. Take the opportunity to admire the view over this turbulent river. Return via villages and close to one of the Morvan peat bogs, at a place called Morégnon.

Magnificent walk around Lac des Settons with an almost constant view of the lake. Well-marked trail with plenty of shade along the way. Very little tarmac and guaranteed peace and quiet!
Saut de Gouloux (waterfall)
The Gouloux waterfall is a famous tourist site in the Morvan. This walk offers a challenging approach to the site, with a mostly forested route including a few changes in altitude.
The Dolmen Chevresse in the Forêt de Breuil-Chenue
A predominantly forested route that starts along the charming river Le Vignan and quickly reaches the Dolmen Chevresse. The route then leads into the Forêt de Breuil-Chenue, where firs and beeches are more common than the oaks that once gave the uplands their name.
Trail around Lac de Saint-Agnan
With a surface area of 140ha, Lac de Saint-Agnan is a popular spot for fishing and family picnics. The tour of the lake is an easy stroll that offers a variety of views over the lake. It also offers the chance to discover a peat bog on a specially prepared path.
Circular loop from Anost
A circular route starting from Anost, in the southern Morvan, which leads through forests of fir and other tree species to Notre-Dame de l’Aillant, the site of a Maquis Socrate camp, the Pierre du Pas de l’Âne, and the Tureau des Grands Bois, whilst enjoying the cool air in summer and pleasant views.

Discover the Haut-Morvan. Hamlets are scattered across a landscape marked by ridges and steep-sided valleys. The forest and its exploitation are omnipresent. Streams and animals in the meadows complete the picture. It is a beautiful walk between hamlets, countryside and forest with brief and occasional difficulties.
Notre-Dame de l'Aillant
A short hike where, after playing leapfrog with the streams that run through Anost, you climb through the forest to a beautiful viewpoint dominated by the statue of Notre-Dame de l'Aillant.
From the Resistance fighters to the Gallo-Romans in the Morvan forest
Deep in the Morvan forest, you reach the site of the Socrate maquis and then emerge much later from the forest at the Gallo-Roman theatre of Les Bardiaux. The return journey is along a path with information panels about other points of interest in the forest.
Oppidum du Vieux Dun and Étang de la Creuse
The commune of Dun-les-Places owes its name to the existence, in Celtic times, of an oppidum, a sort of stronghold built into the natural landscape and protected by two lines of defence. This hike takes in the site of this oppidum. Along the way, you'll pass through a typical Morvan landscape of meadows, ponds and deciduous and coniferous woods.
The Pérouse rock - The Menéfrier Islands
A getaway to a natural environment, with superb gardens planted in this vegetal and mineral setting. The rocks are there, the islands are in name only, but at times it seems as if we're a long way from the urbanised world.
Lac Saint-Agnan towards the Abbey of La Pierre-qui-Vire
Walk through the forest, part of which runs alongside the River Trinquelin and moorland.
Halfway along the route, you will pass the Abbaye de la Pierre-qui-Vire.

A circular loop featuring a descent through the forest of the Vallon des Châtelains and a climb back up a quiet little road.
Circular route between the Étang du Griottier and the Rocher de la Pérouse
Starting from the water source, this hike takes you to the highest point in the Yonne and the Rocher de la Pérouse, which offers a magnificent view of the Nièvre and the commune of Dun-les-Places.
