Around Chissey-en-Morvan

The start and finish are at the bottom of Rue Chagnot, by the small picnic area on the banks of the Ternon: parking is available.

(S/E) Cross the Ternin via the small bridge and take the Route de Vaussery.

(1) Continue along Route de Vaussery until you reach the Y-junction at the edge of the hamlet.

(2) Turn left onto Impasse des Grillerons, then head straight up the hill. The road turns into a forest track. Follow it to a plateau surrounded by meadows and enjoy the lovely view on your left.

(3) Enter the forest, follow the forest track as it curves to the left and continue uphill. You’ll reach a forest viewing platform with a stunning view of the Morvan hills.

(4) Head down the path on the left until you reach the Ruisselle road (D276).

(5) Turn right onto this road and follow it for about 50 metres, then turn left onto the dirt track that leads uphill.

(6) Take the first path on the left and follow it until you reach the Route de Ruisselle. Follow this for about 200 metres, until you reach a junction at elevation 434.

(7) Turn onto the path that climbs to the left and follows the ridge of the hill. Then head down to the Château de la Prée to join the Route de Vaussery.

(1) Turn right onto this road to return to the picnic area (S/E).
