From the medieval village of La Garde-Guérin, there is a steep descent into the Chassezac gorges, then a climb up to the opposite plateau and finally back to the village via the hamlet of Albespeyres.

A round-trip hike, but with four circular loops that offer a variety of scenery. The entire section along the ridge offers a stunning panorama of the successive mountain ranges of the Ardèche.

The route passes through the ruined hamlet of Fargebelle and crosses the northern flank of the Ardèche via a track that offers panoramic views of the peaks overlooking the opposite bank. You will also discover the splendid sites of the Devil's Bridge and the magnificent paved slanting streets of the Queen's Ladder and the King's Ladder.

A short walk that climbs up to the heights above the charming little village of Banne and descends back down via a pretty paved slanting street.

A very pleasant circular loop with no difficulty except for the slightly steep climb from the Sentier des Gardes to the Col de Bartouyre, but the trail is indeed splendid and consists, for the most part, of easy-to-walk flagstone steps. Hikers are treated to superb views at the Col de Bartouyre.

This circular hike takes you to the Tanargue plateau via a magnificent trail. Once on the plateau, you can follow the ridge trail to discover superb views of the Ardèche mountains.

A beautiful circular along a very pretty trail offering splendid views of the valley, the village of Mayres and the mountain range on the opposite side for most of the climb. A circular route starting from Thueyts, leading to the Col de Fontfreyde, where you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view, and returning to the starting point via the magnificent stone staircase known as the Queen's Ladder.

A very beautiful hike along the Ardèche Gorges, between the Bivouac du Gournier and the Cirque de la Madeleine, over magnificent limestone slabs and at the foot of the imposing cliff face bordering the gorges. Along the route, you’ll discover the huge rock known as the ‘Cathedral’, over 100 metres high, whose jagged shape resembles a cathedral.

A very pretty path, mostly paved slanting street and mostly open, offering views of the valley, the village of Thines and the surrounding ridges. At the top of the circular route, you will discover the Ferme de l'Espinas, dating from the 13th and 14th centuries and listed as a historic monument.

A round-trip hike, much of which follows the ridge, offering magnificent panoramic views of the peaks of the Cévennes in the Gard and the Monts d’Ardèche. Route along theGRP® Haute Vallée de la Cèze and the Cévenol.

A pleasant hike offering the chance to discover, first and foremost, a typical landscape of lush vegetation (particularly holm oaks) interspersed with limestone formations. Also particularly interesting is the crossing of a sharp limestone pavement at the summit of Bannelle. This is a limestone plateau that has been eroded over time, forming joints that give it a ruin-like appearance.

Important: access to the Canalettes is prohibited from 1 October to 30 November 2025. This is a very interesting route, particularly in relation to the Canalettes site. These are two canoles, faults carved into the limestone of the causses due to erosion. These fractures are particularly deep at this location.This hike also takes you to the source of the Durzon, which takes the form of a resurgence. Similarly, the steep Pas de la Mule pass, although short, is another special feature of this circular.

A very pleasant walk, part of which follows a ridge leading to the Tour des Poignets and offering a superb panoramic view of the Lozère Mountains, the Tanargue, Mont Gerbier de Jonc, the Mézenc, etc…All along the ridge, you can admire the Rocher d’Abraham ahead of you.After the climb over the rocks, reaching the summit reveals a metal sculpture by Pierre Louis Chipon, created in tribute to Jean Gilly, a great sportsman from the Ardèche.

An easy walk that allows you to discover the isolated hamlets typical of this region of the Cévennes, as well as its vast chestnut groves.

A short walk through the heath dotted with a few dolmens in varying states of repair, but nonetheless interesting for their burial mounds and magnificent limestone slabs, which have unfortunately partially collapsed. You can also see two shepherds’ drystone shelters, known locally as ‘drystone shelters’, one of which is in good condition.

The circular route takes you through a beautiful forest (particularly welcome in hot weather). There are some magnificent views during the first half of the route, including a 360° view, allowing you to admire the surrounding mountains and the Mediterranean Sea.

A short walk along pleasant Cévennes paths. A route that begins with a magnificent staircase made of splendid schist slabs, and a series of small steps allowing you to cross the various accols (or faïsses: terms meaning terraced farmland) once maintained for cultivation. Also worth noting is a distinctive feature of the Malbosquet Bridge, where one of the parapets has a pointed section in the middle, into which a slab has been set to form a seat.

The hike is located on volcanic terrain, allowing you to approach the Rocher d'Ajoux, which is part of a lava flow. On the last section of the circular route, we follow a ridge line with panoramic views of the Alps.

A very beautiful hike where you can discover a karstic cave, dolmens, caves and magnificent arches. Update on 20 October 2025: given the number of hikers leaving comments proving that they have not taken into account my update of 20 February below, I prefer (mainly for safety reasons) to permanently modify my itinerary and my original description. Update on 20 February 2025. Following Jacba's comments on 19 February, for which I am sincerely grateful, I would like to make an update that will make this hike less difficult and more attractive. At (10), take the path on the left, which is fully marked in yellow. This good path joins the one that leads to (14). Take it on the right to make a round trip to the Arches du Morgue. Retrace your steps and continue on the initial path of this hike, passing by (14) and (14).

This lovely circular starting from Le Pompidou takes you through three different types of landscape: schist, granite and limestone. There are beautiful panoramic views at various points along the way. The varied vegetation consists of beech, ash, ferns and broom. You will also pass through fields of cereal crops, chestnut groves and pastures.

An easy walk consisting of a series of ascents and descents. The landscape is varied, with numerous stretches through chestnut groves, a few streams crossed twice via footbridges in excellent condition, and some beautiful views, particularly from the Ventalon ridge, not to mention some lovely hamlets restored in the typical Cévennes style.

This hike takes you along the Montagne de la Serre, whose highest point is La Baume Lardière. To reach this ridge, take the path that leads to the Col de la Cize. At the ridge, you will discover numerous viewpoints over the Cévennes, as well as the Baronnies massif and Mont Ventoux. The return journey is via the Ravin de la Fontaine du Merle.
