Coming from Méjannes-le-Clap on the D167, about 2 km further on, take the road that turns into a track on the left and passes in front of the Mas de la Taillade. Park a few metres from the junction with another track.
(S/E) Return to the junction of the two tracks and take the one on the left that points towards Aven de Peyre Haute. At a junction, go straight ahead and do the same at the next intersection (elevation 318). A few hundred metres further on, you will reach another intersection.
(1) Take thefirst path on the left, which leads first to the upper part of the karstic cave de Peyre Haute. The path, which is completely safe, goes around it. N.B. The GPS track at this point seems to overlap, which is normal since you are first on the upper part of the karstic cave and then on the lower part. Back on the path, descend to the left to reach the entrance to the karstic cave and walk back and forth, bending down at the entrance to reach the bottom. Back on the path, follow it to the left.
(2) At a T-junction, take the path on the right and descend. Further on, turn left at the hairpin bend and continue on fairly flat ground, then turn left at the hairpin bend.
(3) At the crossroads, continue on thesecond path on the right.
(4) At the "Chemin des Bûcherons" sign, turn left. At the next sign, turn right towards Grand Chêne. You will come to a track.
(5) Follow it to the right for about a hundred metres. At a small clearing (information signs), turn right and continue in the direction of Baume des Fades (green sign). Pass in front of Lac de Carquignau (which is not really a lake, but more like a pond), then in front of two dolmens.
(6) At the "Le Mouriou" sign, take the track on the right towards Les Banquières.
(7) At the "Les Banquières" sign, leave the track and take the path on the left towards Rocher de l'Aigle. The path descends and soon heads north. Join another path, follow it to the right and you will soon come to a fork.
(8) Turn left and climb up the switchbacks. After a right-hand bend, ignore a path on the left and you will soon reach a small road.
(9) Cross it and continue straight ahead on a footpath.
(10) When you reach a clearing, at the "La Chandelle" sign, take the path on the left, which is marked entirely in yellow.
(11) At the "Les Mourgues" sign, turn right and head towards the Arches du Mourgue or Rochers du Morgue.
(12) Retrace your steps to the fork you passed earlier.
(11) Take the small road on the right for about 500 metres.
(13) Leave the road and take a track on the left. Stay on this track, heading east, ignoring a turn-off on the right. At an intersection (elevation 261), turn right and continue south.
(14) At the fork, continue left, heading east. Continue on the track until you reach the junction you took at the very beginning of the hike and you will immediately find the (S/E) on your left.
