Syresham walks

This delightful circular walk takes in the beginning, or end, of the MILLENNIUM WAY depending which way you look at it. It is mostly across open country with gentle undulations. This is walk 36 from the 44 composing the Millenium Way.

This delightful walk explores parts of Northamptonshire and Oxfordshire using a section of the Millennium Way. The route starts from Middleton cheney and continues via Thenford, Upper Wardington and Chacombe back to the start.

A lovely circular walk from the delightful village of Cropredy in the Cherwell Valley, three miles north of Banbury and close to Exit 11 on the M40. During this circular walk you will enjoy three delightful villages, some open countryside and farmland, quiet lanes and an attractive section of the Oxford Canal. This is a good walk at any time but really good in spring when the bluebells are out in Badby Woods and butterflies are exploring the hedgerows. The route passes through some scenic Northamptonshire villages and includes small stretches of the Nene and Knightley Ways.

Taking in the road walking along the A45 but with nice views of rolling countryside, a saunter along the Grand Union, (there's a memorial bench under the A45 to rest and lunch and keep dry), and then heading off the canal towards the village of Dodford with a Grade 1 listed church to visit. Parking at the village hall or opposite the church.

A small section of the walk crosses Hellidon Lakes Golf Course, so extra care should be taken near the fairways. This is arguably one of our most scenic walks. A Warwickshire walk full of interest. The route passes a restored windmill, follows two sections of canal and visits the summit of Beacon Hill which offers good views across the surrounding countryside.

This circular walk starts at The Kings Head, near Napton on the A425 where you can obtain refreshments. The route soon joins The Millennium Way along the Oxford canal then across flat farmland & open countryside, turning south to follow the Grand Union Canal and Oxford Canal providing a feast for those interested in narrow boats and history of our canal network. This circular walk mainly explores Blenheim Park, its monuments and distinctive characteristics including the Grand Bridge, the Column of Victory, Rosamund's Well and an impressive Cedar of Lebanon tree!

This pretty long circular walk explores Blenheim Park with great views of The Lake and the Palace. Then, follow paths (Palladian and Wychwood Ways) in the countryside following River Evenlode until you reach the remains of a large Roman courtyard villa. You finally go back to Woodstock using a section of Oxfordshire Way.

An Oxfordshire walk that captures typical landscapes of the county. The church at Bladon is also the burial place of Sir Winston Churchill. The route uses established paths.

A nice route around the perimeter of this Severn Trent reservoir. Start and end at the car park - there are charges, but not unreasonable. A small detour brings you to the trig-point on Hensborough Hill (see map). The route is suitable for walking or cycling. There are a couple of stretches where there is a steep climb / descent, so it might not be suitable for those with accessibility needs; however the straight dog-legged section of path to the east of the reservoir runs along a dam wall with a wide footpath and absolutely no gradient. There's also a small cafe in the visitors hub -check their website for opening times of both the park & visitor hub. Dogs are not allowed on the circular Reservoir Trail but can use the Country Park and Hensborough Trail. Find more information on the Severn Trent reservoir website
