Interesting contrasts and diverse colours at the edge of several regions (Rougier, Causse, Pays d'Olt) and in the heart of unspoilt nature and intact vernacular heritage.

Magnificent panoramic views of the thousand-year-old town of Estaing and views of the wild Coussane valley and the Lot valley.

This is a stage of the Way of St James starting from the pretty village of Estaing. I recommend visiting this magnificent village and its castle. You can also enjoy a drink by the Lot river. A plaque in memory of President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing can be found at the entrance to the village. This stage is moderately difficult with a lot of road and some elevation gain, so bring something to drink and protection from the sun.

Follow the pilgrims of Santiago de Compostela (GR®65) along a historic path that is difficult but offers a wide variety of landscapes and pleasant views.

Discover the beautiful panoramas of the Lot valley, with superb views of the three castles of Estaing, Calmont in Espalion and Cabrespines in Coubisou. The river "La Coussane", a tributary of the Lot at Estaing. Highly contrasting landscapes, from wooded valleys to green hills, traditional farms to replanted terraces. This hike tells a rich story, linking two well-preserved Romanesque churches.

This unusual old path through the woods tells a story dating back to the signing of the Concordat in 1801: that of the "enfarinés".

Wooded ridges, fast-flowing streams rushing down from the plateau, terraced vineyards blending with the red soil, rocks, houses and the ancient town of Villecomtal: a hike full of contrasts.

This hike is partly the same as the "Circuit des cazelles du Causse de Lanhac boucle Nord" hike. The route is the same for both circuits until (8). Marked with "Espace Naturel Sensible (ENS)" signs. A pastoral land, the Causse de Lanhac has preserved not only its fauna and flora but also an important heritage. No fewer than twenty cazelles are listed there. A volunteer association, attached to the Rodelle rural community centre, has been working for several years to restore these buildings, which have suffered the ravages of time. This hike will allow you to discover the southern part of the site.

Four new footbridges to span the canyon. They replace the ford crossings, which are often submerged by the Dourdou.

This hike is partly the same as the hike (Causse de Lanhac cazelles route, southern circular). The route is the same for both routes up to point (4). A land of pastoralism, the Causse de Lanhac has preserved not only its fauna and flora, but also an important heritage. Come and discover the panoramic views of the Lot valley from these former vineyards. This immersive walk through the countryside offers some beautiful views. In this wild area, you will encounter the stories and legends of the region. At the Gachou waterfalls, you can enjoy a moment of refreshment and relaxation. A very pleasant hike that alternates between shaded and open areas with beautiful views. Pass through small hamlets. The roads used are not very busy. Hunting activities are indicated in the areas concerned.

Between the Monts d'Aubrac and the Causse Comtal, the capricious Lot river has made itself at home on either side of Espalion. Visitors are charmed by the valley's mild climate.

Following the old railway line, which has been converted into a hiking trail, imagine what it was like when it was built a century ago (1905).

A beautiful short stage combining roads and paths. Moderate difficulty in terms of distance and elevation. Very good signposting with red and white GR®65 markings. Take advantage of the village crossings to visit the churches and fill up your water bottles at the fountains.
