The Roman road in Saint-Chély-d'Aubrac
A very pleasant hike, starting in the shade of hazelnut and ash trees. Then, on the Roman road, you will encounter the beautiful Aubrac cows (in season) with superb views of the Lot valley. Saint-Chély-d'Aubrac is a stop on the Way of St James and its bridge is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the title "Routes of Santiago de Compostela in France".
On the heights of Saint-Chély-d'Aubrac via Belvezet
You will meet many pilgrims in the first part of the hike, up to Belvezet, topped by its heavily eroded neck. A long stretch of road (caution for those allergic to tarmac!), although with very little traffic, takes you through the Saint-Chely-d'Aubrac valley to the mountain pastures, where you will only encounter beautiful Aubrac cows. Visit the village at the end of the hike.

Circular through six Aubrac burons (stone huts) from Lac des Moines
Burons are an integral part of the architectural heritage of the Aubrac. These small stone houses were once used by farmers to watch over their cows and produce cheese during the summer. Although they are part of the landscape and soul of the Aubrac, today nearlytwo-thirds of them are disappearing due to lack of use. The Grandes Solitudes circular starting from Les Mazes.
Grandes Solitudes is in fact a continuation of the PR®6 "Solitudes" route in the Chamina guidebook, but with an extension. The lower part of Solitude in the Chamina guidebook is impassable. The route starts from Les Mazes heading north, then gradually follows the drovers' road and soon, with your head increasingly in the sky, you will gain 300 metres in altitude and enjoy sumptuous panoramic views. The return journey follows the Mardonenque boralde (small river).
