Departure from the Town Hall Square.
(S/E) Head west, turn immediately left into Rue du Pont Vieux and leave the church on your right (follow the red and white markings ofthe GR®65). After a few bends, you will reach an intersection at a place called Les Marques.
(1) Ignore the road that branches off to the right and take the Pont des Pèlerins bridge. Follow the road uphill and negotiate two hairpin bends.
(2) At the end ofthe second bend, continue along the road with the GR®. You will come to another road; follow it to the left for about 50 metres. Then take a path on the right (follow the red and white markings). Stay on this shaded path between dry stone walls, heading east, and climb steadily. Note the views of the Neck de Belvezet (an ancient volcanic vent) on your left. This will take you to the hamlet of Verminière.
(3) After the Verminière farm, turn right and climb up a path. Walk past a large farm building on your left and rejoin the tarmac road in the hamlet of Les Enfrux.
(4) At the crossroads, leave theGR® trail on the left with the road and pass between two houses slightly to the right (follow the yellow markings). Turn right immediately after the house and continue along the path, which is an old Roman road.
(5) At the white cross (intersection), turn right. Continue straight ahead (west) and ignore the side roads. At an intersection, the path turns south (follow the yellow markings).
(6) At the crossroads, turn right. Further on, you will come to a small road. First turn right then left to go around the Aubiac farm on the right. Continue north-west on the marked path and immediately afterwards turn left.
(7) At the next crossroads (white cross, picnic area), turn right. Continue straight ahead (north) and pass La Devèze farm.
(8) Shortly afterwards, turn left. Go downhill and ignore a turn-off on the left. Continue downhill along several hairpin bends (yellow markings).
(9) You will come out onto Route de Bonnefon. Follow it to the left for a few dozen metres. Go down thefirst path on the right. Walk alongside the cemetery on your left (superb views of Saint-Chély).
(2) Return to the road you took on the way up and follow it to the left (red and white markings). Cross the Pont des Pèlerins bridge again.
(1) Continue along the road to return to the starting point (S/E).
