(S/E) From the Maison de l'Aubrac (car park), head towards the entrance to the botanical garden. Take the path that branches off to the left and then turns north-west. Near the road, turn north.
(1) Cross the D987 road and go through a gate. Then follow theGR®65(red and white markings on posts or rocks on the ground) through the pastures (close the gates behind you). Climb the large grassy slope (note the White Virgin) and walk along a wood on your left.
(2) Turn north-west, still through the pastures, and descend gently. Cross the Ruisseau de Chambouliès.
(3) Turn right (northeast) onto the path. Walk along a copse on your right, then turn east.
(4) Pass in front of a buron (a type of hut). Turn left at the edge of a copse, then right.
(5) Go through the last gate and take the wide, shaded track on the left, heading roughly east-northeast.
(6) At a crossroads, continue straight ahead on the track. At the next fork, take the path on the left that passes a cross. Cross the hamlet of Le Coustat and rejoin the D987 road.
(7) Follow the road to the left until you reach Nasbinals.
(8) Return via the same route to the car park (S/E).
). Avoid making the same mistake we did by choosing to return via the "road detour" just to avoid going back the same way. The 4 km along the very busy D987 are particularly unpleasant.
