A lovely walk along the ridges of the hills, taking walkers on a journey of discovery through the Terrefort de Pamiers. This stretch of hills, with its woods and fords, offers vast panoramic views of Pamiers and the Pyrenees and, despite the sections on the road, provides a wonderful opportunity to explore the area.

A very beautiful walk, despite the route being quite close to Pamiers town centre. You’ll soon find yourself out in the countryside, joining paths at the edge of the woods before heading deeper in. You then reach, via a lovely climb, a commanding view in both directions: a view of Pamiers and its surroundings, and then a view across the Piedmont towards the Pyrenees. Quite simply marvellous. The route runs mainly along clean, unobstructed paths (bare earth without stones, which can be slippery in wet weather: two walking poles are therefore highly recommended). The sections on road (except at the end, where you must be very careful as it’s a very fast-flowing road with no pavement near the campsite) are almost like footpaths, so narrow are they and serving only a few isolated farms. All in all, a lovely discovery, as the route also runs alongside the Ariège, whose banks have recently been redeveloped.

A short circular hike without too much elevation gain, starting from Dun, via Pic Galinié and a beautiful view, then returning via the hamlets of Roussinergue and Saint-Pastou. A real little circular hike (unmarked) with the most remarkable view of the Pays de Dun, enhanced along the way by the panoramas of the Cami del Castel and the orientation table. A gem not to be missed! But be careful on the very steep descent from Pic Galinié!

A lovely, easy walk through the beautiful woods above Bonnac. You can finish with a swim in the Ariège. The route is well maintained and clearly marked in yellow.

A nature route! A path through valleys and ridges with magnificent views of the Monts d'Olmes. Originally route no. 14 in the Pays de Mirepoix, the signposting is now quite old.

This family hike will allow you to discover the different landscapes of Mirepoix from two viewpoints: the Croix de Terride with a partial view of Mirepoix but with an orientation table, and before Montbruguet, with a full view. The trail is varied, sometimes open, sometimes in the woods, but always pleasant.

From hamlets to villages, forests to woods, set off to discover the hidden charms of this little corner of Ariège! Take a breather and discover a 400-year-old oak tree, small wash basins, old stone shepherds' huts (orrys), views of the Péreille Gorges... and a few steep slopes, one with a 17% gradient and another with a 20% gradient!

This hike offers beautiful rolling landscapes between the woods of La Balme, Mouillet and small valley bottoms. The main feature of this route is the Douctouyre, a river near Lavelanet, which you cross twice. The highlight is the petrifying Turasse waterfall near Roquefort, a real geological curiosity.

Circular family loop with little elevation gain. Starting from Carla-de-Roquefort, via Lieurac and the Extraordinary Garden, then a beautiful ridge towards Le Sautel, and finally along the Douctouyre and the canal leading to an old mill.

A walk suitable for all year round (provided there is no snow in winter), mostly through woodland. The first section is very accessible and family-friendly, on wide, well-maintained paths. The section after L'Herm is a well-marked climb, marked in yellow, but the path is not always obvious on the ground, with quite a few steep sections, though never dangerous (you can have lunch at the highest point).

A family circular offering exceptional views of the Pyrenees and the plains of Ariège. This hike takes you through meadows, undergrowth and then forest, on very pleasant paths and tracks. It is also a livestock farming area, so please keep an eye on your dog.

A winter circular hike. Very beautiful places, where five exceptional architectural elements are gathered: the Château de Saint Quentin la Tour, the Château de Lagarde, the fortified village of Camon, the Château de Leran and the Château de Queille on its rocky outcrop. Please note: the bridge over the River Hers between waypoints 3 and 4 is undergoing repairs and will be closed until the end of 2017.

The first half of the walk takes place at the bottom of the valley and passes through fields, meadows and the Ruisseau du Sautel. It then climbs steadily up the hillsides, offering sweeping views of the valley, particularly when the trees are bare. This means that, in summer, you’ll be walking in the shade for the second half of the route.

Circular hike from Roquefort-les-Cascades to Roc des Abeilles via the ruins of Château de Teyrac and back via Jean de Lamic, Les Monges and Daribeau on the other side of the valley. The route passes through two impressive climbing spots with routes rated from 4 to 7c. Some fairly steep passages where you need to use your hands.

A walk through the land of Gaston Fébus, former Count of Foix, along the Ariège. After an enjoyable climb “in the land of the elves” amongst the moss-covered rocks, you reach two rural hamlets, where time seems to have stood still, then the ridge and its viewpoints over the Pyrenees. A circular loop in Plantaurel: greenways, woods, ridge views, the Touyre and Hers rivers, and history with the Saint-Roch Chapel and the Castella de Laroque d'Olmes. Something to satisfy all hikers.

An easy hike with beautiful views of the Pyrenees. No difficulty apart from some old markings or sections overlapping local routes, and a section requiring GPS guidance at the point (8).
