Quéven walks

A beautiful walk through the woods along a stream and around a small pond, with no particular difficulties.

A short, easy walk with no significant elevation gain, suitable for everyone, around the Val Quéven Golf Course.

A beautiful hike through the woods in the communes of Quéven and Gestel, following the course of the Scave stream and the Scorff river. The route has been adapted to take into account sunlight and weather conditions (muddy valley floors). It is advisable to do this hike when the tide is high in the Scorff river (beautiful scenery), avoiding spring tides with a coefficient > 95.

From the Bay of Lorient to the Bay of Saint-Brieuc, Cycle Route 8 (188 km) crosses the Breton countryside on towpaths and peaceful little roads lined with water points. The V8 first follows shared paths, passing through pretty residential neighbourhoods in the city, then through the countryside, before reaching the Blavet towpath, which meanders between the wooded hills of a green valley. Route 8 then continues along the quiet and winding Hilvern canal, which has been converted into a greenway, to join the Nantes-Brest stream at Allineuc.

This route, also known as the “pedestrian ring road”, was initiated by the town of Guidel. It allows you to walk around the town centre (kreiz ker in Breton) via wooded paths, lovely lanes bordering meadows and routes through residential neighbourhoods. The pleasant route, mostly through woodland, is clearly signposted with posts bearing a green arrow and the words "périphérique pédestre". A lovely way to discover another side of Guidel.

From the Scorff estuary to the Scave. Starting from the historic town of Pont-Scorff, explore the Scorff and Scave valleys with their wild and unspoilt landscapes, home to protected species such as salmon. On your return, stroll through the narrow streets, discover the Cour des Métiers d’Art and its artisans, the contemporary art spaces, and the landscaped gardens of this town, which has been awarded the ‘Petite Cité de Caractère’ label.

Close to the town centre of Lorient and the sea, this walk is ideal for families: it will take you through 89 hectares of natural environments, along paths built in the 1970s around two lakes. You will appreciate the contrast between the shady green lanes and the mirror of the sea reflecting the blue sky.

A rolling route suitable for trail running. The series of ascents and descents on technical terrain is a real pleasure in this peaceful valley along the Saudraye, which feeds into the Loch pond. Depending on the season, the terrain can be muddy and slippery.

Offering a glimpse of the area's religious heritage via the Kaolin path, the hike continues along the coast with its beaches and coves and views of the island of Groix, ending at the small port of Kerroch, Perello beach and the port of Lomener.

A peaceful walk on the outskirts of Lanester around the Marais de la Goden, whose banks have been developed so you can walk without getting your feet wet, then along the Ria du Ruisseau du Plessis.Pass by the little Chapel of Saint-Guénaël and its fountain, then the banks of the Blavet opposite Pen Mané Bay, where the two rivers of Lorient—the Blavet and the Scorff—meet.

Discover the history of Lorient, from its origins in the era of the Compagnie des Indes – founded in 1664 by Colbert to facilitate trade with Asia – through to post-war reconstruction and the conversion of former military sites. An unusual urban walk in the heart of a maritime city.

This hike combines walking (12 km) and water bus crossings. Board the boat to Pen Mané and follow the coastal path to the ramparts of Port Louis. Board the boat again to reach Keroman and walk through the streets of Lorient to Quai des Indes. Remember to check the water bus timetable in advance (see the link in the practical information section). You will be hiking through natural and private sites. Discover the natural and built heritage of Lorient harbour along the GR®34. From the historic port of Lorient, you will walk along the Scorff before reaching the Blavet estuary, which offers beautiful views of the maritime landscape. The walking loop ends at the Pen Mané pier in Locmiquélic. A water bus will take you back to your starting point in Lorient in 8 minutes. Remember to check the water bus timetable in advance. This walk takes you through wooded parks, the Marais de la Goden, the Parc à Bois on the Scorff, and past wash houses and fountains.

In the heart of Lanester, enjoy a family walk in Parc du Plessis, the city's green lung, then along the Ria du Ruisseau du Plessis, whose waters merge with those of the Blavet to reach the sea.

This beautiful circular route around Lorient will allow you to discover the different neighbourhoods as well as its maritime and riverfronts. The diversity of the landscapes, the architectural curiosities and the charm of the hidden paths among the urban areas will make you appreciate this route with its changing atmospheres.

A stone’s throw from the Blavet, nestled between woodland and salt meadows, the Goden Marsh route will introduce you to magnificent landscapes shaped by the sea. Where the fresh waters of the Plessis stream meet the rising tides of the sea, you can observe the flora and fauna of these natural habitats.

Linking the village of Cléguer with Bas Pont-Scorff, the Coët Letune route takes you through the Cléguer countryside, past woodland and meadows, alongside the River Scorff and its streams. Don’t miss the partly Romanesque Saint-Gérand Church and the heritage sites in Bas Pont-Scorff, notably the Notre-Dame de Bonne Nouvelle Chapel and its 13th-century recumbent statue. The walk will also give you the chance to discover heritage linked to water, including a fountain, a washhouse, a mill and a brewery…

Walk back up along the Laïta, following thePR® trail, and visit the Saint-Michel Chapel.

This route takes in the Loch Reserve. A former arm of the sea that has been reclaimed and transformed into marshland.It's home to many species of flora and fauna. You'll cross reedy wetlands and enjoy birdwatching.

A stone’s throw from the Laïta estuary, the Loc’h ponds are a former ria that has been separated from the ocean by a sandbar. Once reclaimed, this area has regained a very natural appearance, and the path that winds around it allows you to discover this little gem.

From Guidel-Plages, this route follows the Laïta, a coastal river, up the coastal path to the old Beg Nénez tide mill. The return journey takes you through the countryside along small roads and wide wooded paths. At the end of the route, you will pass by the Notre-Dame de la Pitié Chapel and its votive fountain.

This walk takes you along the Blavet estuary, between woodlands and salted meadows. Beautiful landscapes, fauna, flora, and a fascinating boat cemetery.

This route opposite the Pouldu marina is a simple, pleasant and varied circular route, touching on theGR®34, which remains one of the most scenic trails in the area. An easy walk along sunken paths at first, then following the Laita river estuary.

Pass through the towns of Guidel, Ploemeur, Larmor, Lorient, Locmiquelic, Port-Louis and Riantec on a route marked with cycle route signs. Enjoy the coastal landscapes and town centres along the way.

The River Laïta winds its way from Quimperlé to Le Pouldu. Its banks are steep and it is bordered by a state-owned forest which is home to the ruins of Saint-Maurice Abbey. The coastal path (GR®®34) allows you to reach the abbey site from the mouth of the river via either bank. The extension towards the chapel and the Saint-Michel fountain takes you through a wilder area. The walk can be done as a circular route during the high season by using the Pouldu ferry.

Short tour of the Pen Mané marsh, classified as a Special Protection Area (SPA) for birds. Bring binoculars to fully enjoy the 165 species of birds identified on the site, such as grey herons and white egrets. This short tour can easily be extended with detours and variations for those who want a longer walk.

This very varied route takes you in turn along the lower reaches of the River Laïta, along a wide variety of paths through woods, valleys and hamlets, and along a beautiful stretch of coastline with cliffs and beaches.

A short walk from the Laïta estuary (the ‘Éllé maritime’), following the coastal path opposite the Île de Groix, as far as the outskirts of Le Pouldu, in the footsteps of the painters of the Pont-Aven School who set up shop at the Buvette de la Plage (Marie Henry’s inn) or stayed in the surrounding farms of Keranquernat or Kerzellec, such as Gauguin, Filiger, Sérusier, de Haan, Makowski, Slewinski and Seligmann. Take in the rich heritage of civil and military architecture, as well as the unspoilt wildlife and vegetation.

Between sea and land, the Anse de Kerguélen route takes you along sunken paths—veritable tunnels of vegetation—past meadows, ponds and marshes. Back on the shore, facing the Île de Groix, you’ll appreciate the contrast between the blue of the ocean and the white of the sandy coastline dotted with rocky outcrops. This route is organised by Lorient Agglomération.

A short, easy loop between countryside and seaside.

The town of Port-Louis has inherited a prime strategic location and a history as a fortified settlement. At the tip of the peninsula, construction of the citadel began in 1616 to protect the kingdom from English, Spanish and Dutch enemies. After establishing itself in Le Havre, the East India Company moved to Port-Louis in 1664, bringing prosperity to the town. This short stroll along the ramparts and the marina offers beautiful views of Lorient.

This route will take you along the sunken paths of Riantec. You will cross the woods to the north of the village, walk along the old imperial road and discover the villages that punctuate your route.The paths can be muddy in winter, so don't forget to bring appropriate footwear.

This 9 km circular route around Riantec will allow you to discover all the landscapes that make up the commune. After criss-crossing the village, let yourself be guided to the small sea of Gâvres. Linger around the Château de Kerdurant and the Stervins tide mill. Keep your eyes peeled as you approach the Dreff marsh, where you may be lucky enough to spot passerines and other inhabitants of the reed beds.

The Lec’h route will take you along streams, through sunken paths and villages, as you explore the Calan countryside. It’s a chance to discover the rural heritage and the lec’h at Kerandiot, a Gallic funerary stele. Don’t miss the Church of the Trinity, a masterpiece of Breton Romanesque art: nave, carved capitals and murals, Gothic choir and ossuary gallery.

A short, peaceful walk on Kerner Island (peninsula) between Rianterc and Pointe du Gâves. This bay fills up with the tides. Return via the old fishing village of Kerner and its Chapelle de la Trinité chapel.
