Pommeuse walks

At the confluence of two Briard rivers, this is a bucolic hike that alternates between woodland and fields with short passages through small villages.

From the medieval town of Coulommiers to Provins, via a loop around the Marne in the Paris suburbs, a series of walks starting from a station and crossing the Brie plain, its villages and its rich heritage.

Loop starting from the pretty village of Crécy-la-Chapelle. Varied landscapes: fields, forests, villages and river, Grand Morin valley. Picnic in the village of Dammartin-sur-Tigeaux and return along the river.

Between Villiers and Crécy, you walk along the hillsides through fields, meadows and small woods. Crécy-la-Chapelle offers views of its canal, beautiful old houses, the Church of Saint-Georges and the Moulin Saint-Martin, as well as a very pleasant walk along the Grand Morin.

A hike through the vast open areas of the Briarde countryside with large rolling hills and views as far as the eye can see, followed by shaded areas in the valley and on the Grand Morin hillsides. Pieces of the architectural heritage along the way, churches, mills and wash-houses, make the trip that more worthwhile. The hike can be shortened to a 15 km walk, or split into two, one 8 km and the other 12 km (see useful information).

Hiking along a bend of the river Marne. The circuit follows along streams in its first part, then crosses part of the Montceaux forest. There are beautiful panoramic vistas at every break in the tree cover.

A hike mostly along rivers with a connection by the slopes of the Grand Morin and Marne valleys offering beautiful views of the region. Crossing through some of the villages, including Couilly-Pont-aux-Dames and Quincy-Voisins, lets you explore some interesting elements of their architectural heritage.

A varied hike from station to station, following the underground Dhuys aqueduct. This route allows you to discover the Marne first, before taking forest paths and crossing pretty villages.

At the confluence of the Marne, Ourcq and Thérouanne rivers, the ponds and reed beds of the Grand Voyeux regional estate are home to a huge number of birds. The walk begins on the observation path of this protected natural site. It then hops along the River Thérouanne, along the Canal de L'Ourcq and the Canal de la Thérouanne, and ends along the Marne. Water and birds are the main attractions on this route!

The forests of Ferrières and Armainvilliers are contiguous over a very long stretch from east to west. They form the largest wooded area in eastern Paris. It is a single humid forest with very little relief, dotted with ponds. It is renowned for mushroom picking. This hike allows you to discover the tree species that make up the forest: oak (sessile and pedunculate), ash, lime, maple, cherry, service, etc.

A bucolic hike through woods, fields, meadows and gardens, playing leapfrog with the Yerres and Ru de Bréon rivers. Two village crossings and, in Chaumes-en-Brie, a tribute to the musicians of the Couperin family and a farm with surprising architecture in the heart of the Brie region.

A short circuit to discover beautiful panoramic views of the Jablines outdoor recreation centre, the banks of the Marne and the Dhuis promenade in Dampmart.

Discover the Domaine de Rentilly with its three distinct landscaped areas: the English-style park, the French-style perspective and the forest, then continue your hike through the agricultural lands of the Vallon de Bussy-Saint-Martin, passing by the Broce and Loy ponds.

Mostly dating from the late Middle Ages, fortified farms are a typical part of the architectural heritage of the Brie region. This walk takes you past several such farms, including the Fief de Bois-Poussin stronghold, and gives you the chance to discover the rich heritage of Nangis with its ancient fortified castle, church and market halls. The walk takes you along paths between fields and small roads with little traffic, and along the banks of the brooks that wind through this farming plain.

Bombon is not only a church and a typical village in Plateau Briard but also a castle, and the holiday destination in 1909 for an emigrant known as Vladimir-Ilyich Ulyanov, or Lenin.

Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the medieval walls of Provins are worth a visit in their own right! This urban walk, enhanced by waterways, allows you to discover the town's main sites and monuments: ramparts, Romanesque church and Gothic collegiate church, former convent, and the famous César Tower. The route was designed by the Pays du Provinois Community of Communes and marked by the FFRP.
