Périgueux walks

Come and discover Périgueux, capital of the Périgord region, rooted in its past but still as lively as ever. Its narrow streets and small squares are sure to charm you.

A fairly long but easy hike: the slopes are gentle and the elevation gain is moderate. There are some beautiful wooded sections, mainly towards the end, and a few views of the rolling countryside, but there are also some paved sections that can be a bit long.

A beautiful hike in the heart of the Double forest, discovering a beautiful fortified church, wooded trails and charming hamlets... to get some fresh air, recharge your batteries and enjoy the peace and quiet of nature.

Some points of interest in the village: you will pass the Tour Pigeonnier, the Pierre à Sacrifice or Peyre d'Ermale or Dermale. Further on, there is a climbing site and a troglodytic village dating from the 12th-13th centuries. Don't miss the Peyrelevade dolmen, dating from the Neolithic period and listed as a Historic Monument since 1960, and the sculptures visible on the gate of a quarry.

Circular cycle route no. 7 starting from Rouffignac A route that exudes nature and authenticity! Rouffignac and its surroundings offer the perfect setting for an outing where every turn of the pedals brings new discoveries. On your way, you will pass through the charming village of Plazac. A wonderful adventure awaits!

A short loop to explore the surroundings of the village of Saint-Sulpice-de-Roumagnac, 8 km from Riberac, with virtually no roads. Peaceful, with little chance of meeting anyone. Good footwear is essential. Walking poles are a bonus.

A long, peaceful hike in the Barade National Forest (barradaen occitan: closed): calm, wind in the branches, birdsong... It mainly follows firebreaks, with few roads. Moderate elevation gain.

A lovely walk in the forest. Well shaded, ideal for walks on sunny days. The path is very easy to follow. This route has a slight elevation gain with gentle ascents and descents, making it ideal for a Sunday outing with the family. We completed the route in 1 hour and 15 minutes with a group of adults walking at a leisurely pace.

The hike allows you to discover two ancient villages now united under the name of Saint-Georges-de-Montclard. The village of Montclard is dominated by the 11th-century castle, of which the remains of the tower can still be seen. The village of Saint-Georges is home to an 11th-century church and Sainte Rita. The walk takes you through the forest in a hilly area with a few steep slopes requiring a minimum level of fitness.

Cycle route circular no. 1 starting from Le Bugue Climbers and thrill seekers take note! This circular is a real test for your calves, but what a reward once you reach the top! Limestone cliffs, a river winding below and authentic villages... A taste of the Périgord to be savoured from the saddle.

Cycle route circular no. 3 starting from Le Bugue This circular takes you around Le Bugue, up into the hills where you can enjoy beautiful views. You will then pass through the village of Les Eyzies, the world capital of prehistory, and near the village of Campagne.

Circular cycle route no. 2 starting from Le Bugue. Set off on a cycling adventure through nature and heritage! This charming, rolling route takes you to the Audrix plateaus, near the Château de La Batut in Saint-Chamassy, and on to Limeuil, listed as one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France. Between breathtaking panoramas and discoveries, get on your bike!

This circular mainly takes you around the pretty village of Le Bugue, in the heart of the Vézère valley in the Périgord Noir. You will take paths to reach the entrance to Campagne and return to Le Bugue using part of the "La Vézère à vélo" greenway, which runs alongside the river.

Cycle route no. 5 circular starting from Le Bugue. A route designed for pleasure! This easy, rural circular is ideal for a leisurely family bike ride, enjoying the peace and quiet of the Périgord countryside and the coolness of the banks of the Vézère. Accessible and rejuvenating!

Cycle route circular no. 4 starting from Le Bugue. We love this circular for its rolling hills and peaceful roads! Between Saint-Avit-de-Vialard and Journiac, the route alternates between climbs and shaded sections, perfect for an outing where pleasure and effort go hand in hand.

This challenging (red) circular mainly explores Le Bugue, a village in the Vézère Valley, in the heart of the Périgord Noir region of the Dordogne. The route passes close to prehistoric sites, such as the Ferrassie prehistoric site and the Sorcier Cave (closed to the public).

This hike takes you up to a higher elevation with a beautiful view of the Vézère River, and also allows you to discover two sites: - La Roque Saint-Christophe, troglodyte dwellings in a limestone cliff one kilometre long and sixty metres high, - and the village of Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère, listed as one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France.

C'est l'une des plus belles randonnées à faire autour des Eyzies-de-Tayac. Elle permet de profiter de la fraîcheur des sous-bois et offre une vue étonnante sur les falaises des Eyzies.

Une promenade au milieu des buis et des chênes verts au dessus du village des Eyzies. Cette petite boucle ombragée autour des Eyzies de Tayac peut être facilement parcourue en famille. Un sentier boisé escarpé rejoint le charmant hameau de la Mouthe, qui renferme la grotte du même nom (inaccessible à la visite).
