Park in the Quais de l'Isle car park (free), below Boulevard Georges Saumande. There are several car parks around this boulevard.
(S/E) From the car park, with your back to the river, go up the ramp on the right to access Boulevard Georges Saumande. Follow it to the right for a few metres until you reach the pedestrian crossing. Turn left towards the Eschif de Greyssac, which was used to watch over the bridge. At the crossroads, turn left onto Avenue Daumesnil. After No. 19, turn right onto Rue Port de Graule and follow it almost to the end.
After No. 25, turn left. Leave Rue des Dépêches on your left and climb the stairs on Rue de l'Abreuvoir. Turn left onto Rue Barbecane (look out for the Hôtel de Fayolle at No. 14 on your right and the former Hôtel du Cheyron du Pavillon at No. 8). Cross Rue du Plantier and continue along Rue Notre-Dame. Pass the next two streets on your right and you will arrive at a small square.
N.B. This small square was created when some houses were demolished, so the right and left sides do not have the same name.
(1) Turn right onto Rue de la Vertu (opposite No. 2 Rue Notre-Dame). At the end, turn left onto Rue des Drapeaux, cross Rue Saint-Front and continue to the next intersection. Follow Rue Montaigne opposite, and after No. 7ter, turn left onto Rue du Puits Limogeanne, which leads to a new square with two names. Cross the square diagonally to the left to head towards No. 17 Rue de l'Éguillerie, the headquarters of Maison Tenant.
Turn right onto Rue de l'Éguillerie, leave Rue Berthe Bonaventure on your left, then turn left onto Rue du Cimetière Saint-Silain to reach Place Saint-Silain. Turn left onto Rue des Chaînes and continue to the market halls on Place du Coderc. Turn right twice to go around the market halls, then continue straight ahead to Place de l'Ancien Hôtel de Ville.
(2) Cross the square diagonally to the left, then turn left onto Rue Saint-Silain. At the end, turn right onto Rue Taillefer and cross it to reach No. 18 on the left-hand pavement.
Open the gate and go down the stairs to Passage Taillefer. At the bottom, open the exit gate and turn left onto Rue des Farges.
At the end, turn right in front of the Military Museum to go down Rue Aubergerie (at No. 19 is the Hôtel d'Abzac de la Douze). Continue downhill and turn left opposite No. 13 to reach Rue Saint-Roch. Turn left and walk up Rue du Calvaire to a car park (note the statue of Saint James above a doorway on the left). Cross the car park diagonally to the right to reach the entrance to Saint-Front Cathedral.
(3) After your visit, turn right onto Rue Denfert Rochereau, walking alongside the cathedral. When you reach Place Daumesnil, turn left onto Rue de la Clarté. Turn right onto Rue Salinière to reach Place du Coderc (Maison Lapeyre is located on the left-hand corner of the square).
Continue straight ahead on Rue Limogeante (look for Hôtel Fayard at No. 3 and Maison Courtois at No. 7). Turn right onto Rue de la Miséricorde and continue to Rue Saint-Front (look opposite on the left, at No. 10, for the Grand Orient Masonic Lodge). Cross the street and go opposite onto Rue de la Constitution (at No. 3 is the former Hôtel de Crémoux). Continue to No. 7 to see the Hôtel Gamenson.
Turn around and turn left onto Rue de la Nation to reach the rear of the cathedral. Turn left onto Avenue Daumesnil until you reach Pont des Barris. Turn right onto the boulevard to return to the car park (S/E).
