Description of the walk

The starting point is at the junction between the D4 and the roads to Baillou and Blanchou, between the localities of Lauglusie and Meynichoux. There are rubbish bins there, and you can park there, taking care to leave the access to the bins clear.

(S/E) Start the walk by following the D4 towards Meynichoux, following the sign for the locality. Please note that there is heavy traffic on this road. Continue to the end of the straight stretch, until about 40 metres before a right-hand bend in the road.

(1) Ignore the signs for “Circular Walk of Chantebrune” and “Bourg de Coursac” and take a path on the left signposted “Chemin d’Ambroise” and “Notre-Dame de Sanilhac”. Head down into a small valley, then climb back up to the right through the woods until you reach a junction near a house.

(2) Ignore the main path which continues to the right; turn left, following the yellow markings round the bend. Continue through the woods and, once at the edge, walk alongside a fence. You’ll reach the road leading to the Chabane farm.

(3) Cross it and carry on straight ahead. A little further on, cross another small, formerly tarmac-surfaced road, walk alongside a meadow and then through a small wood. You will then join theGR® on a limestone path.

(4) Turn left to quickly reach a road; follow it straight on towards the hamlet of La Vigerie. Cross the hamlet, following the road which further on becomes a downhill track, and at the bottom you’ll reach a junction.

(5) Pass the turn-off to Notre-Dame de Sanilhac on your right and follow theGR® signposting to the left, then immediately to the right before a small quarry. Reach the ridge and join another path.

(6) Turn left, following the yellow, white and redGR® markings. You’ll reach the crossroads at Borie Marty.

(7) Leave the main path and turn left, following the double markings. The path descends into the woods; at the junction, keep left onto theGR® which passes close to a house and continues down the valley.

(8) Once at the bottom, ignore theGR® heading off to the right and take the track on the left, which climbs towards the hamlet of Baillou. It becomes a road that leads straight back to the starting point (S/E).

A hilly walk through forests and meadows with beautiful views.
A relatively easy walk, best done in good weather.
We will do it again

A very beautiful hike, especially in the middle when passing through the valley with a beautiful view of the wheat and corn fields. Many dogs bark at the height of the fence but are harmless.
Part of the trail is on the Way of St James with shells on fence posts, very picturesque.
