Mont Mounier from the Col de l'Espaul

Mont Mounier (2,817m) is one of the must-see peaks in the Alpes Maritimes: magnificent panoramas, 360° views from the summit, a beautiful ridge at the end, a fairly steady and easy 1,100m climb with views of the summit almost all the way.
Cime Nègre and Mont Mounier

This trail allows you to discover a little-visited valley in the Mercantour: you can see marmots and chamois here. The landscape is very varied, alternating between coniferous forests, meadows and ridges which, in good weather, offer views of the peaks of the Mercantour, Queyras and Écrins.

The Daluis Gorges

Starting from the Pont de Berthéon, this circular hike in the Gorges de Daluis allows you to discover the superb and characteristic landscape of the Upper Var Valley. After a gentle climb through red pelite, you will reach a sublime spot offering a sensational view over the gorges. You will then climb back up the gorges to complete a loop via the Colla and Saussette plateaus, which offer some beautiful views of the mountains in this valley.
From Saint-Sauveur-sur-Tinée to Roure via the canal

This route begins in woodland where wild strawberries grow, followed by an unusual, little-used canal, before joining the GR®5. The beautiful village of Roure is well worth a visit: original wash house, fountains, a wealth of renowned local heritage.
Lauvet d'Ilonse from Col de la Sinne

A very fine walk in the middle country of the Alpes Maritimes, alternating between open views and coniferous forests. The 360° panorama from the Lauvet d'Ilonse is well worth the diversions: you can see the whole of the Mercantour and the main peaks of the mid-country.
Cime del Lausfer and Cima Tesina loop

This magnificent French-Italian hike allows you to discover the middle and upper reaches of the Mercantour: pastures, ungulates, lakes and panoramic views. This hike has a significant elevation gain and includes an exposed section between the Pas du Bœuf and the Col de la Guercha: not recommended for anyone who is afraid of heights or unsure-footed in the mountains.

A superb circular hike, allowing you to discover no fewer than five lakes through magnificent landscapes at the foot of Mount Malinvern. It is located entirely in Italian territory, close to Isola 2000, starting from the Col de la Lombarde road on the Vinadio side.In addition to the lakes, the hike offers superb views of the peaks overlooking the Rio Freddo valley at the foot of Malinvern, which is omnipresent during the first part of the circuit.

Mont Pelat, in the Mercantour National Park, is the highest point in the Haut Verdon.
Col des Esbéliousses from the Pont du Vieux Brec

This hike in the Grande Cayolle, which is part of the heart of the Mercantour massif, is not difficult. It offers varied landscapes ranging from forest to mountain pastures, then to the mineral world of the north face of Mont Pelat and the surrounding ridges.
Cime de la Plate and Lacs de la Braissette

A beautiful hike in a wild environment, with no technical difficulties despite 50% of the route being off-trail. Orientation is not a problem either, despite the few cairns along the route; just follow the contours of the terrain and the streams at the edge of the meadows.The Visorando app may be useful.
The Annot Sandstone

A very pretty, magical and interactive hike under oak trees, hundred-year-old chestnut trees and among huge sandstone boulders.
Most of the walk is in the cool forest.
The Grès d'Annot are world famous and are a listed and protected site.
