Offemont walks

This hike has been named the Marcel Lallemand trail in honour of a tireless hiker. An active community member, he worked hard to create and mark hiking trails in the Belfort area. A commemorative plaque has been erected near the Virgin of Evette This hike will take your breath away, between the Salbert hill, the blue line of the Vosges mountains and the Malsaucy lake. Superb views of the Planche des Belles Filles and the Ballon d'Alsace. The trail is signposted.

Walk among the many ponds in the municipality of Evette-Salbert.

A short, easy country walk for the whole family with views of the Lomont wind turbines, the Chasseral massif in Switzerland (on a clear day) and a visit to the Brevilliers dolmen.

This hike begins on the western flank of Mont Jean, through a forest interspersed with clearings offering magnificent views of the Savoureuse valley and the surrounding peaks. It reaches its peak at the Col du Chantoiseau, a haven of peace at the crossroads, at the foot of the Tremontkopf, which offers a view of the Riervescemont valley and its hills.

You may be surprised by the siren that, according to legend, haunts the ponds along this route. A superb hike 15 km from Belfort and 10 km from Héricourt. You will also discover a pretty village with its church and temple, beautiful countryside and forest landscapes with numerous ponds. Along the route, information boards describe part of the history of this region and the legend of the mermaid.

This hike will take you to the Source de la Doller, which, contrary to what you might think, does not originate at the Ballon d'Alsace, but below the Schlumpf. During the hike, you will enjoy beautiful views of the Doller valley and have the opportunity to eat at one of the farmhouse inns along the route.

Easy hike along the edge of the Champagney basin.

A family walk in unspoilt, lush countryside at an average altitude of 950 m and with no difficulty. The first part of the route is below the Plain de la Gentiane, in the forest among century-old trees and lush vegetation. Once you reach the Wissgrut, the return journey is along the ridge through sun-drenched pastures with panoramic views of four departments.

This beautiful hike takes you from Masevaux to the summit of Rossberg at an altitude of 1,191 metres. From the top, you can enjoy magnificent views of the Vosges, the Alsace plain, the Black Forest, the Jura and the Alps. The elevation gain is significant, but the route is otherwise easy.

Follow the banks of the Doller and then the Wagenstall waterfalls to reach the peaceful thatched cottages of the narrow Grand Langenberg valley near an authentic farmhouse inn. Descend to the foot of the Ballon d'Alsace towards the impressive glacial basin of Lake Alfeld, which dominates the Doller Valley. Finally, return along the tumultuous Seebach, which calms down in a wet and marshy meadow before dying in the peat bogs of Lake Sewen. Please note that theGR®531is sometimes obstructed (forestry work, overgrown vegetation, fallen trees, etc.) and maintenance is sometimes delayed. In this case, take the Fennematt path that runs along the left bank of the Doller and rejoin the route at point (1) or point (3).

A peaceful hike that will take you to Sewen Lake and its peat bogs, then to Alfeld Lake, which is very different with its dam. The path is flat until you reach the foot of the dam, then climbs a little.

This is a beautiful hike offering views of and above the lakes. You will feel cool as most of the hike takes place in the forest (open areas: downstream from the Baerenbach farmhouse inn, the same for the Gresson moyen and the Haute Bers).

This hike takes you mainly through forest from Sentheim to Masevaux via the Wolflenloch discovery trail. The return route follows the Doller river, passing the Hohenstein Cave and Sainte-Anne Chapel.

This beautiful route begins with two remarkable peaks in the Vosges and offers beautiful views of the upper Moselle valley, before reaching the Pays des Étangs.

This is a pleasant hike, starting with a slight descent into the woods, with almost the entire climb being open.

In the Doller valley, this walk will let you discover the lakes of Neuweiher and some of the most beautiful landscapes in the Vosges. It's an easy walk and accessible to anyone.

This short hike offers breathtaking views of the Col des Perches and the lake of the same name, Sternsee. A bench and a small table above the scree overlooking the lake are ideal for a snack break while admiring the landscape. At the Grand Neuweiher lake, stop at the refuge inn to quench your thirst before heading back to Rimbach. Moderator's note: the Blue Disc trail between (6) and Ermensbach is closed to the public and should not be used as an alternative to the Yellow Horse trail (Steinweg).

A pleasant, undulating hike between the lakes of the Vosges, offering magnificent views, high-altitude thatched roofs and open, varied landscapes. Starting from Rimbach near Masevaux, head towards Basse Bers, then Lac des Perches, climb up to the pass of the same name, followed by the GR®5 trail overlooking the lake, towards Haute Beers (shelter). Gentle descent via the Seppiweg to the Neuweiher lakes, then climb towards Gresson (farmhouse inn). Descent to Ermensbach via the magnificent log cabin shelter of Lagerwald Hutte, then along the hillside to the church in Rimbach.

The summit of the Ballon d'Alsace offers magnificent 360° views of the Alps on a clear day. The route crosses the moraines of three ancient glaciers and unspoilt, wild areas in classified natural spaces. (Please note that the route crosses a protected natural area (between (4) and (5)). Dogs are not allowed and access is prohibited between 15/12 and 14/07)

This walk takes you to the Lac des Perches ; a lake that nestles at the bottom of a very steep-sided cirque. Then the path leads you on to a stubble field where there is a very beautiful view over the valley of the Doller and even of the Alps when the sky is clear.

A very accessible circuit starting from the Rammersmatt farm towards Bourbach-le-Haut, passing by the Hochburg chalet. A hike that everyone can follow at their own pace.

The protected Rossberg massif boasts some of the most beautiful pastoral pastures in the Vosges mountains. They were once home to numerous marcairies(1), of which several farmhouse inns(2) remain today. With their magnificent views of the neighbouring valleys, the southern Alsace plain, the Jura, the Black Forest and the Alps, they are sure to delight hikers.

A loop around the Étangs des Princes, a series of ponds that bear witness to the former principality of Montbéliard. Abandoned in the 18th century, they were refilled with water in 1990 and since then have offered a landscape that changes with each season.

A refreshing walk (lots of shade) with mostly gentle slopes in the middle of a beautiful forest. The starting point is Place des Tilleuls, which is also an ideal spot for a picnic.The uphill section has some steep parts, but they are not long. The descent is very gentle. Beautiful views of the forest, the hills, the valleys and the streams.In short, a very pleasant walk.

A beautiful, shaded hike in a stunning forest that will take you to the heights of Thann.From there, an impressive panorama stretches towards the Alsace plain and the Swiss Jura.

Hike on the border of the Vosges and Haute-Saône with magnificent panoramic views of the village of Château-Lambert, the upper Ognon valley, the upper Moselle valley and the plateau of a thousand ponds.

This is a relatively accessible hike, taking you from viewpoint to viewpoint to Engelbourg and the Œil de la Sorcière from Bitschwiller, then gently back up along the river on the cycle path.

A short family hike with no significant elevation gain, allowing you to discover the typical landscapes of the 1000 ponds plateau.

Route slightly modified, description revised and corrected. This is a lovely, easy route that allows you to admire around sixty ponds. Information boards help you discover and understand how these ponds were formed and are used. Much of the route is on small paved roads. This route is partly based on signposts in the field, so be sure to follow the description carefully.

A variety of trails, some of which run through the woods, and forest paths will take you from the picturesque village of Beulotte-Saint-Laurent to the Plateau des Grilloux, passing through the hamlet of La Grande Rocholle. You will walk through a hilly landscape of peat bogs and ponds. On the way back via the long circuit, you will discover the remains of the old Moulin du Hanneau mill and take the small road that runs alongside the Ruisseau du Beuletin stream to return to the village.
