Randonnées Neunhausen

The route starts near Arsdorf and takes you to the Lac de la Haute Sûre, following the course of a river through beautiful countryside; the return journey follows a branch of the lake and then another river. To return to the starting point, the route passes through the small village of Kuborn and then Neunhausen.

A demanding 40 km marathon trail around Lake Sûre (1350 m elevation gain/loss) in the heart of Luxembourg's wild landscapes. A technical and varied circular loop, highly recommended for trail shoes. Start and finish in Esch-sur-Sûre to enjoy a good meal or a well-deserved drink at the end of the course. Option to complete the route in two days: see details in "Description".

Circular hike around Lake Haute-Sûre and Pont Misère. Between trails and viewpoints, a concentration of the best paths and trails with a more substantial distance.

Starting from the Pont Misère, head towards the side of the lake least exposed to the sun – you’ll be able to tell by the vegetation you encounter. Pass by the Burfelt viewpoint, Inserborn beach, the Lultzhausen sculpture trail and finish at the ruins of Esch-sur-Sûre Castle.

This trail takes you on a tour of Lake Haute-Sûre. Set in the heart of the Haute-Sûre Nature Park, this lakeside walk offers magnificent views in all seasons. Along the 41 km route, you’ll discover the Lultzhausen sculpture trail, the Burfelt viewpoint, the ruins of Esch-sur-Sûre Castle, the Baschleiden-Tempelskamp observation tower and the Kaundorf 1940–45 bunker.

Wiltz, the capital of the Luxembourg Ardennes, has a beautiful Renaissance-style castle and is an ideal starting point for hiking.Numerous marked trails (circular or not) allow you to explore the region in complete safety.

Today, I’m inviting you on a short trip through the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, travelling from one Belgian village to another. The route takes in roads, paths and forest trails, and, if you’re lucky, you might spot roe deer or fallow deer in the undergrowth.

A walk starting from Warnack and passing through Strainchamps, Hotte, Bodange, Wisemback and Radelange. Part of the route is in Luxembourg. The walk is mainly on forest paths with little tarmac.

Head to Schuttbourg Castle via three national trails: the Escapardenne Eisleck Trail, the Sentier du Nord and finally the Escapardenne Lee Trail.

Explore the Wiltz Valley via a section of the Escapardenne Lee Trail.

This walk takes us up above the meanders of the Sûre into the heart of the Éislek, following part of the Escapardenne Lee Trail, a hiking trail linking Ettelbruck to Kautenbach. Once we’ve reached Luxembourg’s largest fortified castle, we can walk around the next bend and head uphill to reach a remarkable viewpoint before descending towards Michelau station. If you’re short on time or energy, you can reach the station more directly by taking the Haute Sûre path down from the castle. It was designed to be accessible by train (free in Luxembourg since March 2020).

This route takes us through wide open landscapes alternating with paths and tracks through the woodland. The surfaces are either tarmac or dirt, and the paths are often still overgrown with grass given the time of year and the fact that they are probably not used very often. That’s the charm of these moments spent in direct contact with nature.

This pleasant walk starting from the village of Parette invites you to discover the idyllic landscapes of the Nothomb Valley. The route descends gradually towards the stream, winding its way through green meadows, country hedgerows and small copses typical of the southern Ardennes. Following the course of the stream, the path offers beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and allows you to enjoy the tranquillity of this unspoilt valley. The walk then reaches the outskirts of the village of Nothomb, known for its rural heritage and authentic setting. The return journey to Parette takes you up through the hills. After a steady climb, the route reveals magnificent panoramic views of the valley you have just walked through and the rolling landscapes of the Pays d’Arlon. This ascent offers a striking contrast to the intimate atmosphere of the valley floor, before you reach the starting point in the heart of the village.

Set off to explore the magnificent landscapes between the Ardennes and Lorraine, from the Marais de Grendel Nature Reserve to Colpach Castle with its permanent sculpture trail, Colp’Art.

Chapels to explore in the villages of Parette and Nothomb, a state-owned nature reserve in the Nothomb Valley to cross, and border marker 151 to find in the middle of the woods: this is what’s on offer on this circular walk starting from the village of Nothomb.

We offer you a historical interlude in the footsteps of the series "Band of Brothers" and the Battle of Bastogne. During the winter of 1944-1945, here in the Ardennes, one of the longest and most gruelling battles of the Second World War took place.

Starting from Bastogne, set off to explore the Mardasson and its neighbouring villages, along roads and dirt tracks, both in the shade and out in the open.

A peaceful route through woods and valleys. The Anlier Forest covers over 7,000 hectares. It is the largest contiguous beech forest in Belgium. It is here that the black stork has made its grand return to Wallonia, after a century of absence.
