Tintange – Benonchamps

At the junction of Route de Warnach and Rue des Deux Fontaines.

(S) Take Rue des Deux Fontaines on the right, towards Surré. Pass two roads.

(1) At the ‘Y’ junction, follow the road to the right (the GR®15 trail). Ignore all side roads until you reach a ‘T’ junction on the Luxembourg border.

(2) Take the branch that climbs to the right. After a straight, uphill stretch (with a lovely view to the right), take the minor road on the left before the bend. Follow this road all the way uphill.

(3) Where the road splits into two paths, take the one on the right which continues to climb. It enters the woods, turns right and joins a road. Follow it to the right, pass the first junction and continue to the edge of the woods.

(4) Take the path on the left running alongside the woods. A little further on, it enters the woods along a good, descending track. It becomes a footpath for a short while before turning back into a track and joining a road.

(5) Follow it to the right, then left at the next junction. It takes a wide bend to the right and joins another road.

(6) Follow it to the left and stay on it, ignoring all side roads, until you reach the centre of Harlange.

(7) Turn left onto Rue Monseigneur Fallize, follow it to the right, then continue straight ahead until you reach Watrange.

(8) At the entrance to the village, carry on straight ahead and continue to the centre of Tarchamps – a ‘T’ junction.

(9) Turn left towards Virstadt; at the ‘Y’-junction, continue towards Virstadt on the right until you reach a four-way junction. Carry on until you reach the Belgian border again.

(10) Turn left onto the path leading uphill through the woods and follow it, ignoring any side paths. After a long bend to the left, it joins another path. Follow this one to the right. Continue straight ahead until you reach a crossroads at the edge of the forest with a view of the N84.

(11) Turn right, back into the woods, until you reach the N84 near a few houses.

(12) Take care here: the N84 has heavy traffic and there are no designated crossing points. So take great care when crossing. You will then reach a road junction.

(13) Turn left onto the road and continue to the edge of the forest until you reach a Y-junction.

(14) Continue to the right along the Promenade des Moulins de la Wiltz. At the road (Wardin), turn right until you reach the first junction.

(15) Turn left onto the path between the woods and the fields. At the next junction, carry on straight ahead until you reach the Route de Harzy.

(16) Turn right, then left towards Benonchamps (N821). Cross the Wiltz and continue to the next bend (to the right). Take the path on the left, which further on becomes a track leading to some houses. At the next junction, turn left down to the bottom of Rue du Cimetière. Random stop – accommodation for rent (E).

(E) Benonchamps, I stayed in a B&B. The stopping point will therefore be random.
