Description of the walk

Park at Arsdorf-Moulin.

(S/E) Then head due north towards the house, following the stream. Turn left at thefirst junction, walk alongside the stream and then cross it a few metres further on.

(1) Follow the stream, turning right to reach a T-junction.

(2) Leave the path just before the bend by taking a small path leading downhill. Then walk straight on, trying to rejoin the path further on, a little higher up. Continue along the stream. Then head down towards the bridge you can see.

(3) Cross the bridge and turn left to follow the opposite bank. Gradually move away from the bank until you reach the CR314 road.

(4) Cross it and enter the meadow amongst the trees. Walk through this meadow and then into the woods to reach the N27 road at the bridge situated at the confluence of the Sure and its tributary.

(5) Cross the bridge, then leave the road and take the path on the right, following the course of the Sure’s tributary. Continue until you rejoin the CR314 road.

(6) Cross it, then take the path on the left that runs parallel to it; cross the River Dirbech and follow its right bank to reach another confluence of rivers.

(7) Cross the river again and take the path furthest to the right. Continue along the right bank of this tributary and pass Deck Lay’s hut. Carry on due south to reach a junction of several paths and also the confluence of two rivers near a white hut.

(8) Cross the river and head uphill to reach the village of Kuborn.

(9) Turn right, walk past the church and, at the next junction, turn right towards the fields until you reach a T-junction.

(10) Turn left across the meadows and fields, then turn right. Take two hairpin bends – thefirst to the left, thesecond to the right. Continue straight on until you reach a bridge over the River Mechelbaach.

(11) Cross the bridge, then turn right and keep to the left as you head uphill to reach the church in the village of Neunhausen.

(12) Turn left and walk a few hundred metres straight ahead along the road until you reach thefirst bend.

(13) Leave the road and take the path opposite, heading out into the countryside. Stay on this path, ignoring the offshoots to the right and left. Before reaching the river, turn left at a 90° angle to return to the Arsdorf-Moulin car park (S/E).

I have very mixed feelings about the hike.
The main problem was that on stage (2), the narrow downhill path isn’t maintained, and I found it impossible to follow the route.
I won’t go into the trials and tribulations I went through trying to get back on track further on. But I was only able to do so at (5) by cutting across fields and through woods, passing under electric fences and so on…
