Loop starting from Joux

I recommend this hike when nature is waking up in mid-April, to enjoy the green meadows and bright yellow dandelions. There are unobstructed views over much of the route. The ridge offers beautiful views of the Loire and Rhône departments. Picnics by the pond are very enjoyable and peaceful. The return trail near the river (Turdine) is very wild and quiet.

A lovely, easy walk through the woods above Chamelet.
The roof of the Rhône: Mont Saint-Rigaud

A hike on the highest summit of the Rhône Department.

Beautiful 360° view at Mont Popey on the northern edge of the Monts du Lyonnais with, as a bonus in good weather, a breathtaking view to the east of the Monts d'Or, the Alps and Mont Blanc.
Interesting ridge trail in the forest or open countryside, well marked with beautiful views.
A paragliding launch site where, in good weather, you can enjoy the spectacular views!
The climb up Mont Popey and the descent to Mas Saint-Jean are a little steep, but take your time!

A beautiful walk in the Monts du Lyonnais, from Saint-Romain-de-Popey to Saint-Forgeux. Beautiful views of the Turdine and Azergues valleys.
From Verosvres to Mont Rigaud via the GR®7

On the GR®7 trail, between the Col des Vaux in the commune of Verosvres and Mont Rigaud, passing through the village of Saint-Bonnet-des-Bruyères.
There are many shaded sections in the forest and beautiful landscapes.
The trail is sometimes unmarked, so bring an IGN map, but it is preferable to have a GPS device.
From Verosvres to Chevagny-sur-Guye via the GR®7

On the GR®7 trail between the Col des Vaux, in the commune of Verosvres, and Chevagny-sur-Guye, passing by the Butte de Suin
This is a very quiet section of the GR®7. There are no signposts at some junctions and no footprints in the tall grass to mark the route, so you must take an IGN map with you, although a GPS device is preferable.
This section of the GR® needs to be more popular, as it is not difficult and offers beautiful scenery. The view from the Butte de Suin is magnificent.
