Between Ambierle and Les Servajeans

Parking is available on Place Lancelot, or further up along the D52, Route de Saint-Bonnet.

(S/E) Walk along the square and go up the D52 on the right until you reach a junction with a road going down to the right. Turn right onto Rue Saint-Vincent, then left onto Rue Saint-Claude and continue to the fork

(1) Turn right onto Rue du 19 Mars 1962, walk past the primary school and turn right onto Route Saint-Claude. A sign indicates the path to Les Servajeans, marked in yellow.

(2) Turn left, go down towards the cemetery, then take the sunken path that continues down to the left just before reaching the cemetery. When you reach a paved road, turn left to the Trévelins wash house.

(3) Leave the road and walk between the houses of Trévelins until you reach a grassy path that climbs up to a tarmac road. You will arrive back at some houses.

(4) Leave the tarmac road again, which turns right, and take the path that climbs to the left, still marked in yellow. Follow it uphill, enjoying beautiful panoramic views, until you reach a road near Les Servajeans.

(5) Turn right to cross the D52 and continue climbing towards the forest. Follow the track until the slope levels out. At the crossroads, take the almost flat track on the right and you will come to a fork.
(6) Leave the track via a path on the left and keep an eye on the markings. Follow this path through the oak trees. When you reach a track junction, take the left-hand track until you cross the D4.

(7) Opposite, continue downhill into the forest, following the yellow markings towards the south-east. When you reach a trail junction, turn left, then at a fork, bear left (signposts). Continue downhill to the next junction, continuing straight ahead until you cross the D4 again.

(8) Descend the grassy path to the houses at Col de la Ranche.

(9) Follow the D52 on the right to the junction where there are recycling bins. Turn right onto Rue de la Madone. Go up and then down this small road until you reach the Madone. Enter this superb platform where the view opens up to the horizon. A Virgin Mary statue, crosses and benches welcome you for a short break.

(10) Continue down the road, note the magnificent roof of the church on the right and descend to the entrance to Ambierlé.

(11) Take the street on the left, then turn right towards the priory church. A visit is a must. Admire the stained glass windows. Exit and continue along Rue de l'Église, passing under a porch to arrive at Rue de la Mairie.

(12) Turn left and cross Rue de Faimes to go back up to Parking Lancelot (S/E).
