Belle-Île en Mer: Locmaria - Le Palais
Belle-Île-en-Mer is the largest and most majestic of Brittany's islands.
The coastal path allows you to walk around the island and appreciate the beauty and variety of the landscapes. This hike is located on the north coast, sheltered from the wind, where beautiful beaches, flower-filled meadows and charming little harbours follow one another.
De Port-aux-Moines à la Pointe de Saint-Jacques
From Port aux Moines Beach, in the commune of Saint-Gildas-de-Rhuys, to Pointe de Saint-Jacques and its harbour, in the commune of Sarzeau. Views of the ocean towards the islands of Houat, Hoedic and Belle-Île. A lovely walk along numerous beaches, so there are opportunities for a swim! The path runs the entire length, even at high tide during spring tides. On windy days, the route is very exposed.
Saint-Gildas-de-Rhuys: Pointe du Grand Mont and Seafront
Before or after visiting the former abbey church, head for the tip "Pointe du Grand Mont" and discover the port "Port aux Moines".View of the open sea, from the Quiberon peninsula to Belle-Île.
Gulf of Morbihan from Saint-Gildas (centre) to Sarzeau (hamlet of Banastère)
Stage 4 of the 5-day tour of the Rhuys peninsula. This lovely walk will take you to the beautiful beaches of the southern coast of the Rhuys peninsula, with opportunities for a swim. Offshore, there are views of the islands of Houat, Hoedic and Belle Île, as well as the Quiberon peninsula. The Château de Suscinio, the estate of the Dukes of Brittany set in a natural area rich in biodiversity, is a must-see in Morbihan.
Gulf of Morbihan north of Arzon
Stage 2 of the 5-day tour of the Rhuys peninsula. From headland to headland, you’ll explore the southern coast of the Gulf of Morbihan, enjoying views of Île aux Moines, Île d’Ars and the entrance to the gulf, amongst others, whilst passing through traditional villages and discovering the rich megalithic heritage.
The beaches and Suscinio Castle
Suscinio Castle stands near the sea and on the edge of an area of ponds and marshes. Before visiting this superb fortified castle, this hike offers a route along the coast and then inland. Several variations are possible.
From Kerjouanno Beach to Port Navalo
A short, round-trip section of the Tour du Golfe du Morbihan (TGM), from Kerjouanno Beach to Port Navalo via Le Petit Mont, in the municipality of Arzon. Magnificent views of the open sea, the Ponant Islands (Hoedic, Houat, Belle-Île) and the entrance to the Gulf. Swimming is possible at Fogeo Beach and Port Sable. Beware of high tides, especially in rough weather. The path offers little shelter from the wind.

This route combines the rich heritage of Sarzeau with views of the Gulf of Morbihan and birdwatching opportunities.
Tour of the Rhuys Peninsula
This route, which takes you between the ocean and the small inland sea, will allow you to discover the many facets of the Gulf of Morbihan and all its riches. During your stopover in Port-Navalo, the nearby jetty offers you the chance to spend a day on the Île d’Ars. The Vannes community bus network also allows you to cover some sections of this route as day trips by taking the bus for the outward or return journey.
The Gulf of Morbihan north of Sarzeau
The first stage of the 5-day tour of the Rhuys Peninsula, this route will take you around part of the northern coast of the Rhuys Peninsula, featuring its châteaux, the Truscat saltworks, its megalithic sites and its oyster beds. You will pass through its small hamlets, which have retained their authentic character.
Tour of "Pointe de Penvins" and "Becudo"
A short, easy walk along the south coast of Sarzeau, overlooking the ocean and the tip of "Penvins" ("Pointe de Penvins"). Extensive views out to sea, with the islands of Belle-Île, Houat and Hoedic to the east.
From the hamlet of Banastère to Sarzeau town centre
Stage of the 5-day tour of the Rhuys Peninsula. After walking along the coast, you’ll discover the countryside and wetlands around Sarzeau. Be sure to stop off at Suscinio Castle, the former estate of the Dukes of Brittany, which is situated in a natural area rich in biodiversity. This castle is a must-see in Morbihan.
