Starting point car park: Place des Trinitaines (behind the Tourist Office).
(S/E) Head north-west through a passage between the shops, which leads to Rue du Général De Gaulle, which you follow to the right. Opposite the church, on your left, you will see the town hall and, in front of it, a bust of Alain-René Lesage, a writer born in Sarzeau. Continue along Place Richemont, then turn right onto the tiny Place Lesage, which leads to Rue Saint-Vincent.
(1) At number 17 on this street, a plaque marks Lesage's birthplace and garden, which is open to the public. Continue to the left as you leave the garden, go around the roundabout and turn right onto Chemin du Patis.
When you reach Rue de Beg Lan, turn left, pass the sports complex on your left and go under the D780 bridge via a designated passageway.
After Cohfournic, leave the path on the left and continue towards Calzac Bas.
(2) Turn left onto the path and do the same at the next intersection. Continue straight on Chemin Kloz Kerbleiz until you reach the D198.
(3) Opposite, you will see the Croix de Kerblay and a picnic table. Cross this road with caution, take the small road opposite and immediately turn left to follow Chemin Ar Vroel Vihan. Continue for about 1.8 km; this is the right-of-way of the old railway line.
At the crossroads, at Kerhouët-Saint-Comlombier, turn left, ignoring the dead end on the left and taking the next one.
(4) Follow the wide, shaded path that runs alongside the wall of the Château de Kerlévenan property, which is not visible from the trail. At the next road, turn left and then make a detour to the left to admire the splendid façade of the Manoir de Kerbot.
(5) Return to the road on the left and go under the D780 through a tunnel. At the exit, turn right, then left to join a small road before the hamlet of Le Duer and follow this road for a few metres.
(6) Turn at a right angle to reach the coastal path. Ignore the path on the right that leads to an observatory, which is not part of this circuit.
GR®34Tour du Golfe signposting: White and red.
After about 200 metres, you can access an observatory on the right. This entire area is classified as a quiet zone for the birdlife of the Gulf of Morbihan. (Beautiful view and interesting observations depending on the season, don't hesitate to go up there).
(7) Return and continue along the path that leads to Pointe de Duer.
Follow the path, which heads south-west. This section of the path has been laid with wooden sleepers to make it easier to walk on. The maritime pines also provide welcome shade. On your left, you will see the Château de Kergorget.
(8) The path leaves the coastline and climbs up to bypass Kerbodec on the left.
(9) Then follow the wide path heading west. Ignore the paths on the right and left.
Unmarked.
(10) At the crossroads, about 100 m before the gate, leave Château de Truscat on your right (not visible from the path) and take the stony path up to the left. Walk along a lake and continue to the cemetery.
Pass between the two parts of the cemetery and continue straight ahead. At the next street, turn right then left to go around a car park. Continue straight ahead along Ruelle Cavalin and cross Place de la Mairie.
(11) Take an alleyway that goes around the back of the church. You will come to Rue de Poulmenach. Follow it to the left to reach the car park on the right (S/E).
