Departure by bus from Le Palais to the start of the hike in Locmaria
(S) Cross the village and descend to Port Maria.
(1) Take theGR® 340 trail, which starts on the left side of the beach. Follow the coast. Climb the path to reach Pointe de Kerzo. Continue along the coast to reach thesecond point, Pointe de Kerdonis.
(2) Go around a small fort before returning to the coast. The path, lined with moorland, runs along the seafront overlooking numerous small sandy beaches. The cliff facing the coast is not very high.
After passing behind the Fortin de la Biche, descend towards Samzun beach, overlooked by the picturesque village of the same name. The beach is protected by a masonry embankment with a vaulted passageway. Continue along the path, which is steep at first and then flattens out, and descend towards the beach. Reach the long beach of Les Grands Sables.
(3) Climb the path to the north-west through the dense vegetation of the moors to reach the Bugul fort. An antenna to the north of this military structure provides access to an old battery. Continue along the cliff top and descend towards Port-Yorc'h beach. Climb the steep path on the opposite slope, walk along the seafront and, once again, head down through the heathland and ferns to the small beach known as Gros Rocher.
Follow the detour inland and approach the Gros Rocher headland.
(4) Stay on theGR® trail, which leads to the beautiful fortified beach of Bordardoué and further on to Port Guen.
(5) Walk around it and join the Pointe de Ramonette via the seafront on flat ground bordered by thorns and brambles.
(6) Avoid the fort of the same name, then take the road down to Ramonette beach. Head back up towards the wall surrounding the Palais. Pass under the Locmaria gate and take Rue des Remparts to return to the Port de Palais (E).
