This is an easy but rather long walk, allowing you to discover the banks of the Saône and the Château de Ray-sur-Saône.
On the heights of Montigny-lès-Vesoul
A pleasant little hike in the hills above Montigny-lès-Vesoul. The route alternates between dirt tracks, gravel paths and a few tarmac sections. The trail crosses fields and small woods, offering pretty views of the surrounding villages. It passes close to Poncey and Chemilly, making for a peaceful and accessible walk.
However, there is a slight inconvenience at the end of the route: the trail runs alongside a composting platform. Depending on the day, the wind and the temperature, unpleasant odours may disturb your walk for about 200 metres.
Route de découverte de Fayl-Billot
Fayl-Billot is a village of 1,300 inhabitants located in the Haute-Marne department. It is best known as the capital of basketry. There are many artisans practising this craft in the village. At the end of this walk, do not hesitate to take home a souvenir. This walk takes in the village’s main tourist and cultural attractions, such as the National School of Osier Cultivation and Basketry, Notre-Dame Church, as well as all the village’s wash houses and fountains.
