Gestel walks

A beautiful hike through the woods in the communes of Quéven and Gestel, following the course of the Scave stream and the Scorff river. The route has been adapted to take into account sunlight and weather conditions (muddy valley floors). It is advisable to do this hike when the tide is high in the Scorff river (beautiful scenery), avoiding spring tides with a coefficient > 95.

A rolling route suitable for trail running. The series of ascents and descents on technical terrain is a real pleasure in this peaceful valley along the Saudraye, which feeds into the Loch pond. Depending on the season, the terrain can be muddy and slippery.

Walk back up along the Laïta, following thePR® trail, and visit the Saint-Michel Chapel.

Hiking trail of approximately 9 km proposed by Keryadine on 23 June 2019, starting from the Church of Sainte-Thérèse in Lorient.

From Guidel-Plages, this route follows the Laïta, a coastal river, up the coastal path to the old Beg Nénez tide mill. The return journey takes you through the countryside along small roads and wide wooded paths. At the end of the route, you will pass by the Notre-Dame de la Pitié Chapel and its votive fountain.

This route opposite the Pouldu marina is a simple, pleasant and varied circular route, touching on theGR®34, which remains one of the most scenic trails in the area. An easy walk along sunken paths at first, then following the Laita river estuary.

Close to the town centre of Lorient and the sea, this walk is ideal for families: it will take you through 89 hectares of natural environments, along paths built in the 1970s around two lakes. You will appreciate the contrast between the shady green lanes and the mirror of the sea reflecting the blue sky.

Pass through the towns of Guidel, Ploemeur, Larmor, Lorient, Locmiquelic, Port-Louis and Riantec on a route marked with cycle route signs. Enjoy the coastal landscapes and town centres along the way.

The Laïta river winds its way from Quimperlé to Le Pouldu. Its banks are steep and it is bordered by a national forest that shelters the ruins of Saint-Maurice Abbey. The coastal path (GR®34) allows you to reach the abbey site from the mouth of the river via both banks. The extension to the chapel and Saint-Michel fountain allows you to hike in a wilder area. The hike can be done as a circular in high season by using the Pouldu ferry.

This route takes in the Loch Reserve. A former arm of the sea that has been reclaimed and transformed into marshland.It's home to many species of flora and fauna. You'll cross reedy wetlands and enjoy birdwatching.

From the Bay of Lorient to the Bay of Saint-Brieuc, Cycle Route 8 (188 km) crosses the Breton countryside on towpaths and peaceful little roads lined with water points. The V8 first follows shared paths, passing through pretty residential neighbourhoods in the city, then through the countryside, before reaching the Blavet towpath, which meanders between the wooded hills of a green valley. Route 8 then continues along the quiet and winding Hilvern canal, which has been converted into a greenway, to join the Nantes-Brest stream at Allineuc.

Offering a glimpse of the area's religious heritage via the Kaolin path, the hike continues along the coast with its beaches and coves and views of the island of Groix, ending at the small port of Kerroch, Perello beach and the port of Lomener.

A beautiful, shaded walk between the Crano stream and the Scorff.

A peaceful walk on the outskirts of the town of Lanester around the Marais de la Goden, whose banks have been developed for walking without getting your feet wet, then along the Ria du Ruisseau du Plessis. Pass by the small Chapel of Saint-Guénaël and its fountain, then the banks of the Blavet facing the Bay of Pen Mané, where the two rivers of Lorient meet: the Blavet and the Scorff.

A short hike along the edge of a pond inland, then back along the coast at Fort Bloqué. Enjoy the countryside and seaside atmosphere on this route, which also passes by the Chapel of Saint Jude

In the heart of Lanester, enjoy a family walk in Parc du Plessis, the city's green lung, then along the Ria du Ruisseau du Plessis, whose waters merge with those of the Blavet to reach the sea.

This hike combines walking (12 km) and water bus crossings. Board the boat to Pen Mané and follow the coastal path to the ramparts of Port Louis. Board the boat again to reach Keroman and walk through the streets of Lorient to Quai des Indes. Remember to check the water bus timetable in advance (see the link in the practical information section). You will be hiking through natural and private sites. Discover the natural and built heritage of Lorient harbour along the GR®34. From the historic port of Lorient, you will walk along the Scorff before reaching the Blavet estuary, which offers beautiful views of the maritime landscape. The walking loop ends at the Pen Mané pier in Locmiquélic. A water bus will take you back to your starting point in Lorient in 8 minutes. Remember to check the water bus timetable in advance. A loop on the north side of the Toulfoën forest, leading to a chapel, the road "Chemin du Duc", castle of Carnoët and the Bishop's Chair.

Hike from Le Pouldu to the port of Dolëan along the coastal path, with superb panoramic views.

A short, easy loop between countryside and seaside.

Short tour of the Pen Mané marsh, classified as a Special Protection Area (SPA) for birds. Bring binoculars to fully enjoy the 165 species of birds identified on the site, such as grey herons and white egrets. This short tour can easily be extended with detours and variations for those who want a longer walk.

This route will take you along the sunken paths of Riantec. You will cross the woods to the north of the village, walk along the old imperial road and discover the villages that punctuate your route.The paths can be muddy in winter, so don't forget to bring appropriate footwear.

This 9 km circular route around Riantec will allow you to discover all the landscapes that make up the commune. After criss-crossing the village, let yourself be guided to the small sea of Gâvres. Linger around the Château de Kerdurant and the Stervins tide mill. Keep your eyes peeled as you approach the Dreff marsh, where you may be lucky enough to spot passerines and other inhabitants of the reed beds.
