This magnificent walk takes you on a journey of discovery through the former mining sites operated by the A.R.B.E.D between Esch-sur-Alzette, Schifflange and Kayl. It is offered by the CFL (Luxembourg's railway company) as part of its Hike & Rail range of hiking trails from station to station and has been slightly modified by us at the start and finish.

Route along the Moselle canals.This easy, popular walk will take you along the canal and the Moselle, passing by the Argancy dam, then back via Ennery and Ay-sur-Moselle, along the Moselle.
Talange Circular Route + 1 kilometre variant
This hike takes you along the iron mine canal. It is marked in red and is not difficult.
The 1-kilometre variant is between points 2 and 3, around the Mancourt pond, where there are two signposts.
Talange Blue Circular
Between the canal and the Moselle, today's route is a short 3 km circular. There is a car park right next to the starting point, which is convenient. You can always extend the hike by continuing along the canal, either north or south. This towpath offers many kilometres of safe walking.
The Mines in Differdange
The mines, the mines of yesterday, the iron mines... this is the main theme of this hike.Fond-de-Gras is the most informative site on this subject: it was the station where narrow-gauge trains converged to unload iron ore into standard-gauge wagons bound for the steelworks and blast furnaces of Pétange, Differdange and others in Belgium and Germany.
A history of water in Norroy-le-Veneur
Water is omnipresent in Norroy-le-Veneur: wash houses, Fontaine aux Chênes, Moulin aux Prés. The fortified church and Highland cows are also worth a detour.

An easy route starting from the village centre, allowing you to see different aspects of this village of 1,500 inhabitants located about 10 km west of the city of Metz. Through narrow streets and paths, you can enjoy an unobstructed view of Saint-Brice Church, cross a market garden area and then walk along the Saulny Stream.
