Description of the walk

Park near the civil cemetery in Fillières.

(S/E) Facing the cemetery, take the country lane on your right and follow the yellow markings.

(1) Walk past the German Cross, staying on the same road, and head down to the Crusnes stream.

(2) Cross the Crusnes via the small concrete bridge, then turn left. Depending on the water level of the Crusnes, you may have to take a short, steep path through the trees. Continue along the yellow trail; the Crusnes will be on your left. At the edge of the woods, turn left and continue to the small bridge.

(3) Cross the bridge and then follow the Yellow markings all the way up the hill to reach the D16.
(4) At the road, take the country lane on your left. It will lead you to the village of Fillières.

(5) At the first house, turn left and follow the Chemin de Ronde, marked in yellow, to the cemetery (S/E).

A lovely walk. Just to clarify: after you’ve crossed the little river, if you take the first path on the left, you’ll come across a row of fallen trees. You can carry on straight ahead, but you’ll need to walk through the trees. Take care.

A pleasant walk, with a steep descent at the start and a steep climb just before the end; the section along the Crusnes is quite nice; the signposting is decent, except at the first section of the Crusnes – follow the description on Visorando

Best done on a hot day, as you’ll be sheltered in the forest.
