Starting from the Place du Marché in Buhl, this themed circular walk traces the textile heritage of the Florival region and the memories of its inhabitants. You’ll pass the Maison Koechlin, which commemorates the Buhl-born engineer responsible for the first design of the Eiffel Tower, walk alongside the former cloth mill and reach one of the replicas of the famous tower dotted around the village. A short stretch through the forest leads to Schweighouse, where ‘memorial cobblestones’ commemorate the fate of deported residents. The return route follows the River Lauch and the remains of the Marin-Astruc spinning mill, climbs up to a mission cross overlooking Buhl, then leads to the Church of St John the Baptist and its altarpiece attributed to the circle of Martin Schongauer.
