A bucolic, hilly hike with beautiful views. It starts with a steep climb, but once you reach the top, you'll be rewarded with a beautiful view of the Dordogne valley and Castillon-la-Bataille. The route takes you through vineyards, woods and meadows, with little tarmac. It ends with another steep climb, but less steep than the one at the start.

Just a few minutes from Libourne town centre, there are over 450 hectares of nature: meadows, vineyards, woods, the Dordogne river, but also storks, deer and wild boar (don't worry, they're not visible during the day...). Also worth seeing are a magnificent chapel, Château Videlot and its grounds. Please note that the path through the château grounds along the Dordogne may be inaccessible during high tides (coefficient > 100). This route is signposted.

This slightly hilly route takes you past the beautifully restored Moulins de Calon mills. You will cross vineyards and admire numerous châteaux and several Romanesque churches... The difference between this route and the Des Moulins au Château des Tours route is that there is less undergrowth and more castles and viewpoints, as well as the Church of Saint-Georges.

Let's continue with some Grands Crus and beautiful views of the rolling hills.

You can also stop at the "Cabane à Lire" (reading hut), where many books are available. Tested again on 07/02/2019, the descent after the (1) is narrow but accessible.

Discover a little-known part of Libourne after a few minutes' drive, leaving the traffic behind for the vineyards and then the tranquillity of the banks of the Dordogne. If it is hot and the sun is strong, you will be in the shade and cool on your return. The presence of the menhir is surprising.

90% of the route is on quiet roads with verges, allowing you to avoid the tarmac... This can be very useful during periods of heavy rain. There are some good hills through meadows with herds of cows and farms, not to mention vineyards, of course!
