In the footsteps of the Bélier des Aravis
The legendary Bélier des Aravis trail beckons... This hike allows you to explore the beautiful landscapes this trail has to offer, even if it doesn’t follow the entire Bélier route. A very long hike, with the elevation gain taken on gradually throughout the route. Shortcuts or alternative routes are available if needed.

The village of Castellar is also worth a visit.

Circular walk around the Vallon and the Baisse de Peïra Cava
We were charmed by this pleasant walk because of its shaded nature.
Indeed, the path winds its way mostly under the shelter of the trees, allowing you to enjoy the pleasant woodland setting. The view is rarely unobstructed, but the route offers a rich variety of flora and geological features.
The path is very even and gradually ascending: except on the return leg, where the climb is concentrated in a series of short hairpin bends, though these are shaded, making the effort quite manageable. The walk is well worth the detour
La Tête du Danay loop starting from Les Confins
This lovely walk will take you to the Tête du Danay for a 360° view of the La Clusaz and Grand Bornand valleys.
Along the way, you will discover different facets of the Aravis mountains.
Clue and village of Amen at the start of the Pont des Roberts
This is a very pleasant hike which, after a covered climb, offers breathtaking views of the Daluis Gorges.
The landscapes are magnificent, combining red, green vegetation and blue stone.
Swimming in the Clue d'Amen is a very pleasant experience in summer.
The abandoned hamlet of Amen is a major tourist attraction as it was a completely self-sufficient community for decades, with no other access routes than the hiking trails.
Circular loop from Gilette to Pont de la Cerise starting from La Clave
A very beautiful walk, which can be started either from La Clave (Le Broc) or from Gilette.
It passes through varied landscapes and offers a chance to explore the Pre-Alps... whilst passing very close to the Estéron
We have chosen to start this route with the climb to Gilette from La Clave to avoid this difficulty at the end of the hike.
You’ll easily be able to reach the river on three occasions throughout this hike.
Circular route around the Madone d’Utelle via the Col d’Ambellarte and the Reveston
A lovely circular walk around the Madone d’Utelle.
It offers a wide variety of landscapes: from woodland to meadows, Mediterranean scenery and terraced fields, passing through drier terrain.
The view is at times quite narrow, at other times very expansive, offering vistas of the surrounding peaks of the Mercantour, the Cians and the Tinée, as well as the Gorges de la Mescla.
Circular walk starting from Cantaron
This walk, just a short distance from Nice, offers lovely views of the village of Tourette-Levens and the ruins of Châteauneuf.
At the highest point of the walk, before beginning the descent, the panoramic view stretching from the western end of the Baie des Anges to the Lérins Islands is truly a feast for the eyes.
Circular route between Le-Bar-sur-Loup and Gourdon
A very beautiful hike, discovering two very pretty villages in the Pre-Alps: Le-Bar-sur-Loup and Gourdon. Ideal location for beautiful winter hikes. Gourdon's dominant position offers breathtaking views of the Mediterranean, from Nice to the Estérel, as well as the surrounding Pre-Alps. You can also discover the Foulon Aqueduct and the Canal du Loup.
Crêtes du Férion from Sainte-Claire
A pleasant walk with an (almost) even gradient. It has the advantage of being mostly shaded thanks to the leaves and conifers that line the path.It offers charming views of the coastline, the Var valley and the surrounding peaks of the Mercantour. It also offers a wide variety of landscapes.
From La Clusaz to Lac des Confins and back via Bossonnet
A beautiful circular route around La Clusaz that allows you to discover the nearby mountain pastures. The first part takes place in the forest: ideal in summer because it is shaded, and in autumn because it is exposed to the sun's rays. At the edge of the forest, the view of the valley is breathtaking, with beautiful panoramas of Les Aravis and the village of La Clusaz.
From Col des Aravis to Les Stallets via Chalet du Curé and Boegneuve
An easy hike offering magnificent panoramic views of the entire Mont Blanc range. The mountain range gradually reveals itself as you hike along a road that is passable by vehicle throughout. If you go as far as Stallets, you will have an extraordinary 180° view of the Northern Alps. It is also possible to stop at the Chalet du Curé, which already offers a commanding view, or at Boegneuve. This hike is completely exposed, so we recommend doing it in autumn or late summer, or during the cooler hours of the day in summer.
Tour of Mont Lachat
This hike alternates between two distinct parts: the first is marked by human traces, as it explores the Grand Bornand ski area on very "rolling" paths, while the second is very exotic, exploring the south-facing slope of Mont Lachat, facing Lac des Confins and the Aravis massif. The landscapes and profile of this hike thus offer two completely different worlds and breathtaking views of the Grand Bo Valley massifs (Pic du Jallouvre, Aiguille Verte, Pointe Blanche), then the Aravis mountain range (Pointe Percée, Confins, Danay) and, in the distance, Montagne des Auges. The ascent is very steady, which is particularly pleasant! Beautiful panoramas alternate between civilisation and the calm of the mountains!
Circular Bendejun starting from the Col de Châteauneuf
A circular hike starting from the Col de Châteauneuf. Thanks to its dominant position, the trail allows you to discover the villages of Levens, Coaraze, Bendejun, Châteauneuf-Villevieille and Contes. The trail passes through both heath and sparse forest. The landscapes are varied and truly exotic. The profile of this hike is quite unusual: the total elevation gain is divided into two distinct sections.
Mont Chauve de Tourrette, starting from Faliconnet
A truly delightful walk, mostly in the shade or along very quiet roads. It offers a wide variety of landscapes – from heathland to woodland – and provides views over the various valleys and villages.
From Touët-de-l'Escarène to La Baisse du Pape
A pleasant walk starting from Touët-de-l'Escarène. After an initial slightly uphill section, the route is then very easy going, mostly following DFCI tracks. The scenery is varied.
Summit of Montagne de Sulens via Plan des Mouilles and Col de la Botte
A magnificent hike to the summit of the Montagne de Sulens. The scenery is varied, passing through mountain pastures and woodland. Exceptional views of Mont Charvin, then on the other side of the Tournette des Aravis massif. Please note: the ascent of Montagne de Sulens via the Col de la Botte and the descent via the Chemin du Facteur mean this route is only suitable for experienced hikers.
Circular Route around the Glières Plateau
A magnificent hike passing through four passes around the Glières Plateau. You can enjoy views of the Bauges massif and Mont Lachat on the ascent, then on the other side, of the Montagne des Frêtes. At the end of the hike, you’ll look out over the Glières Plateau. A wide variety of landscapes.
Circular route from Col de Merdassier to Comburce
A very lovely hike! The descent offers breathtaking views over the Charvin valley and Pointe Orsière, whilst the ascent is largely through woodland. The route follows part of the KV and 20 km trails.
