Parking available near Boulevard Aristide Briand.
The start is at the bottom of the Escaliers Saint-Bernard steps near no. 11 on the boulevard.
The hike follows the yellow markings (1 line).
(S/E) Take the Saint-Bernard stairs and climb up the road (very little traffic) before arriving at a water reservoir at Col Saint-Bernard and the start of a forest track.
(1) Continue along the forest track opposite and at marker 552, take the path that climbs gently towards the summit of Baudon, the Col de la Madone.
(2) At the next fork in the road, ignore the path on the right, which will be the return path. Continue left under the shady forest along the Crête des Assalins.
(3) Shortly after marker 554, at the crossroads, continue straight ahead in a south-easterly direction.
(4) At marker 555, a magnificent flat area offers the opportunity to have a picnic or take a break.
Resume the climb to the left. Keep left before reaching a difficult passage (use your hands) and a sometimes acrobatic path.
(5) Please note: the path branches off to your left (the mark is visible on the rocks).
Shortly afterwards, although there is no danger (and no vertiginous areas), you may need to use your hands to help you along. Continue the climb along the clearly visible path to the summit, following the markings.
(6) At the crossroads (marker 556), turn right to the summit to discover an exceptional panorama with the possibility of seeing Corsica.
(7) Descend via the same path.
(6) Leave the path you took on the way up on your left and continue straight ahead on a path that continues along the ridge. It joins the forest and descends.
(8) Leave the ridge and turn left. Join the path you took on the way up.
(3) Turn right, then join the forest track.
(2) Leave the path you took on the way up and join the road on the left.
When you reach the road, either descend via the road you took on the way up (turning right at the next fork), or return via the marked path, which takes you a little lower down to the village of Peille, where you can enjoy a stroll around the village (S/E).
