Park in the car park at the end of the Vallon de l'Autel.
(S/E) Take the DFCI path that goes up the valley behind the railway line.
(1) Leave the DFCI path and take a trail on the right that runs more or less parallel to it. Turn right (west) onto the trail and climb up to the Col de Théoule.
(2) Take the path on the right that crosses a track and continue to the Col du Trayas (several routes possible).
(3) Turn onto the track on the right to reach the Col de la Cadière.
(4) Turn left onto the path (ignore the track also on the left) towards Les Grues.
The climb becomes steeper on the Grosses Grues cone along a winding path to reach the summit (440m).
(5) The view from the summit is breathtaking and there is a relay antenna. Descend to a small pass then climb back up to Les Petites Grues.
(6) On the left, there is a magnificent view of the Lérins Islands. Continue downhill to Col Notre-Dame.
(7) The village of Le Trayas is visible below. Take the wide track on your left towards Pic Martin. Reach the latter.
(8) The panoramic crossing then continues towards Col du Trayas.
(3) At Col du Trayas, you can return via the same route or via a pretty circular leading to the port of Théoule (choice of route).
Ignore the uphill path and take the wide track on the right (Piste des Trois Cols), leading to Col des Monges (235 m).
(9) From the pass, walk a few metres to the left and then turn right towards Small Pass (the path narrows).
(10) Continue along the Mineurs track, which leads to a road. Walk down the road for a short distance.
(11) Atthe first bend, there is a very small path on the right that cuts across the road. Cross the railway line that appears on your right. Do not cross the train tracks, but continue along the small path on your left. This leads to a tunnel on the right that takes you under the railway line and quickly to the port of Théoule.
(12) Turn right onto Quai Edouard Blondy, continue along Promenade de la Darse, then take the stairs on the right that lead to Avenue de Lérins. Turn left and walk along the avenue for about 100 metres.
(13) Cross at the pedestrian crossing to follow Avenue Charles Dahon and continue straight ahead to return to the car park (S/E).
