Vigeois walks

Hike in the Vézère gorges starting from Vigeois, a charming little village where you can see a magnificent 11th-century abbey church, destroyed and rebuilt in 1489 after the Hundred Years' War. On this route, you will pass the old hospital (1840), cross the old bridge (12th century, known as the Pont des Anglais) and walk around half-timbered houses. A little further on, you will find an old carding mill.

This hike will take you to the ruins of two old mills dating from the 18th century, built on the Brezou stream. You can see old millstones, dykes, a supply channel and the ruins of the Moulin de la Forêt building with the water inlets under the mill.

It is impossible to cross the path, which is closed by municipal order.This beautiful hike will take you to La Chartreuse du Glandier, founded in 1219, known at the time as "Notre-Dame du Glandier", destroyed during the Revolution of 1789 and rebuilt in its current state by the Carthusian monks in 1869.You will also discover the Étang de La Rochèze, built in 1457 to serve as a reservoir for the Canal des Moines (1457).Today it is an institute for people with mental disabilities.

A magnificent walk overlooking the Vézère river, following the route of the old "Paris Orléans Corrèze" railway line on the way there, returning on the other bank along the Vézère and crossing the old town of Uzerche.

A beautiful hike on quiet paths and roads. The hike is very well marked in yellow from the church in Perpezac-le-Noir.

This hike takes you on an excursion into the Pompadour National Forest.

A very pleasant walk through the forest, offering exceptional views of the Objat valley at the end of the route.Best done at the weekend to avoid any disturbance from quarry activities. User comment on 24 August 2025.(!) After the ruins of Patel, the footbridge (4) that crosses the river has collapsed and it is not possible to ford the river. A detour is signposted on site. This detour takes you to Rouffignac. Alternatively, you can follow "le chemin du Maquis", which is a little technical at at the moment. An easy and pleasant path in all weathers. It offers views of numerous horses in the pastures surrounding the Chignac estate.

A lovely route that takes you from the Saillant Chapel to the Chartroulle Chapel, discovering one of the rare vineyards in Corrèze, on the slopes of the Vézère in the commune of Allassac. A few steep slopes and paths that can be muddy in the rainy season, but a beautiful panorama.

A short walk near Chanteix where you can admire a pretty waterfall and its stream, the Maumont Blanc. An ideal spot for a picnic at the end of the walk. The hike is easy, with only 400 metres of road.

Just 20 minutes from Malemort-sur-Corrèze, this shaded walk with very little tarmac allows you to discover the large Étang de Lachamp lake and the forests surrounding Favars. A pleasant walk in hot weather. This hike takes 2½ hours.
