A pleasant hike with little elevation gain, following wide farm tracks and quiet country roads.

Description of the walk

Parking is available at Place du Marronnier in Troche (church).

(S/E) Turn left when leaving the car park, towards Pompadour - Lubersac.

(1) At the three-way junction, turn right towards La Grillère - Tréfouilliras, and continue for 400 metres.

(2) At La Grillère, turn right after the farm and take the path that descends to the left. Follow it straight ahead, passing a private pond on your right, continuing down the path which becomes impassable for vehicles.

(3) When you reach the road, turn left and after 100 metres, turn right onto the road that leads to Le Mas. At the next crossroads, turn left, pass Le Geneytout, then turn right onto the path that descends under the trees. Follow it to the next crossroads.

(4) At the crossroads, turn right into the woods and follow this path straight ahead until you reach the road, which you should follow to the left for about 100 metres.

(5) Take the first path on the right that climbs between the fields. Follow the path down to the Pont des Farges bridge and then climb back up towards Les Farges.

(6) When you reach the road in the village, turn right, ignore the first turning on the right and continue to the crossroads. Turn right onto the road and follow it for 1.5 km. Pass Le Meyvialle and La Mégie.

(7) Take the path that branches off to the right at the edge of the forest to reach the Chanterane bridge and climb back up to the road.

(8) At the road, turn right and continue along this road until you return to the village of Troche via Les Combes and Lescurat. You will arrive at the square in front of the church (S/E).

Worth a visit

Troche

At the start, continue for about 500 metres to reach the orientation table and discover the panorama and the view of the Monédières and the Puy de Sancy: a beautiful illustration of the Limousin bocage landscape.
Below the orientation table, a fitness trail winds its way up the hillside, and a little further to the right you will find a beekeeper.
In La Grillère and Mesurat, there are two goat's cheese producers to choose from.
Former Templar commandery in the hamlet of Chaumont.
At crossing point 5, access to the Colombes equestrian centre.

For those feeling peckish, there is a baker and pastry chef, and for those with a hearty appetite, book your meal at La Table de Troche. In the commune, several lodges and guesthouses can accommodate hikers.

An easy and very pleasant walk, despite a bit of road. Lovely views and pleasant forest passages.

Quite an interesting route, but not well signposted in some places. When some idiot moved a signpost halfway along the route (it has since been put back in its place), we ended up off course in Lavaud! What a shame!

Easy hike, well marked from start to finish. Clear paths. Very peaceful route with sections through woodland and along small roads (no traffic).

A very varied route in the heart of the beautiful, lush green Corrèze region, offering a great deal of tranquillity. The few small roads did not spoil our enjoyment. We extended the route as we searched desperately for the Templar commandery in a place called Chaumont, but we did not find it, or did not recognise it...

Opinions vary, and are not all the same. Variety of trails and rare biotope. Nature lovers, "go for it"!

Easy hike, very little elevation gain, but lots of walking on small "tarmac" roads with no interest or shade.
Uninteresting hike.
