Gour Noir circular loop

This lovely little walk will allow you to explore the banks of the river: the Vézère. Downstream from the town of Uzerche. An old saying goes:“He who has a house in Uzerche has a castle in Limousin”.

Description of the walk

Park at a place called Le Gour Noir.

(S/E) Leave the power station on your left and take the path on your right running alongside the River Vézère to the tributary known as the Bradascou.

Not sure where to park the car as there were a few signs saying ‘private’.
A lovely walk along the river; halfway round, you leave the river and climb steeply through the woods.
At the top, you’re then on the road back to where you parked.
Follow the directions and the map, as there are other walks in the area.
There are some muddy sections.
A good walk on a fine day.

A short walk of just over an hour. This route must be popular in summer as it follows the Vézère. Thank you

For the description, you could specify:
Directions:
Coming from junction 45 of the A20 or from Vigeois, the access road to the dam is on the left-hand side of the road; do not enter Uzerche.
Coming from Lubersac or from junction 44 of the A20, enter Uzerche and drive through it; the access road to the dam is at the exit, on the left.
Route on the map:
It is actually quite difficult to spot the access road to the dam, especially if you are completely unfamiliar with the area
Highlights of the walk:
wild scenery – a viaduct spanning the Vézère – a wide and very pleasant path along the river –
Small details: 7
you walk alongside the reservoir for a long time and, of course, the waters are still; this isn’t the turbulent Vézère. You only start to see the water moving at the end of the path that runs alongside the dam.
From the junction of the path with the GR46, the climb up to Mas Martin is steep.

The riverbanks weren’t particularly interesting, though there was a lovely view from above – but that came as no surprise, as I’d already spotted it when I arrived at the starting point
