Route around Bouliac
Bouliac has a rich heritage. Numerous noble houses and châteaux dot the commune, bearing witness to a rich past and a time when Bordeaux merchants made their fortunes thanks to the commercial activity of the Port de la Lune and sought to acquire beautiful residences on the hillsides just a few kilometres from the big city.

The balconies of Lormont: from the Château des Iris to the Château du Prince Noir
In the Bordeaux metropolitan area, this original circuit combines magnificent views of the Garonne, the Chaban-Delmas and Aquitaine bridges, the Cité du Vin and, further afield, a glimpse of "old" Lormont, all in a natural setting.
Please note that there are many steps (but they are in very good condition).
South Bordeaux via green spaces - long circular
The aim of this circular is to connect the green spaces of more than one hectare in the south of Bordeaux. To the east of this area, near the station, you will find a majority of working-class neighbourhoods, often undergoing renovation, with green spaces that are open all the time. To the west of the circular are more affluent neighbourhoods with well-maintained green spaces that are closed at night.It is possible to shorten the circular at Rue Pelleport, almost in the middle of the circular.This route is suitable for cycling, but care should be taken around pedestrians and cars.
Circular loop in Bordeaux city centre on the south side through the green spaces
This circular, less than two-hour route allows you to discover green spaces often located near churches, avoiding road traffic as much as possible. This is a rather privileged area with many small, well-maintained squares. The route is accessible by bicycle if you take care.
Bordeaux-Est via the green spaces - large circular
La Bastide is a neighbourhood located on the right bank of the Garonne, east of Bordeaux. This long-neglected working-class neighbourhood is undergoing rapid change, with the conversion of industrial wastelands, multiple real estate projects, new streets... The proposed route is likely to change quickly...The aim of this walk is to connect all the green spaces larger than one hectare in this neighbourhood, avoiding traffic as much as possible and offering the most beautiful views of Bordeaux from the quays. Two shortcuts are suggested to shorten the walk.I suggest starting the walk on the left bank quays, but it is also possible to start directly from the right bank, at Place Stalingrad, at the end of the Pont de Pierre bridge. The walk can also be done by bicycle, taking care to watch out for pedestrians.
Bordeaux, stroll across the two bridges
Since the construction of the Chaban-Delmas Bridge, it has been possible to take a stroll along both banks of the Garonne River. Whether you prefer a brisk or leisurely walk, you will discover the most beautiful views from the Bacalan Bastide Bridge (Chaban-Delmas) and the Place de la Bourse.

This is a circular route that allows you to discover the green spaces and parks, covering more than one hectare, in the centre-west of Bordeaux. As in many cities, the western sector is favoured because the air coming from the sea is supposed to be healthier. On this side of Bordeaux, there are many beautiful houses with private gardens and well-maintained public parks, which are closed at night.The route can be done by bicycle, taking care.
Bordeaux-Nord via green spaces - large circular
This walk connects some of the green spaces in northern Bordeaux. Only some, because Bordeaux stretches far to the north and it would be difficult to visit all the green spaces in a reasonable walking distance.The walk starts at Place des Quinconces, winds through the beautiful neighbourhoods brightened up by green spaces that are closed at night, and after Parc Marceau, takes you through the more working-class neighbourhoods of Grand-Parc, Chartrons and Bacalan, which are currently undergoing renovation, before returning along the Garonne.It is possible to do this walk by bicycle, taking care to watch out for cars and respect pedestrians.
Bordeaux-Ouest via the green spaces - large circular
This is a circular route that allows you to discover the green spaces and parks of over one hectare in the west of Bordeaux. As in many cities, the western sector is favoured because the air coming from the sea is considered to be healthier. On this side of Bordeaux, green spaces often take the form of private gardens and well-maintained public parks are closed at night.This route can be completed by bicycle at a leisurely pace.

A short circular centred on the green spaces, covering approximately one hectare and avoiding traffic as much as possible. Circular accessible to people with reduced mobility (no stairs). Some green spaces, which are accessible at all times, are not recommended at night.This route can be cycled at a gentle pace, taking care to avoid pedestrians.

Bordeaux-Ouest via green spaces - short circular
This is a circular route that allows you to discover the green spaces of western Bordeaux, a privileged area. As in many cities, the air in the west, coming from the sea, is supposed to be healthier. This area has many quiet, shaded streets and well-maintained parks and squares that are closed at night. The route can be done by bicycle, taking care.

This is a very bucolic route through numerous pleasant woodlands, meadows and small hamlets, with lots of animals, but to enjoy it you also have to accept a few roads (fortunately very quiet ones)...

Bucolic route: undergrowth, meadows, very few vineyards, cereal fields and small, quiet roads with accessible verges.

Cadarsac Nérigean circular
Moderately hilly hike through vineyards, woods and meadows.Please note: this route is not recommended if you do not have a GPS or, better still, the Visorando app, as many sections lack signposts.Please note that descriptions (5) and (9) were modified on 19 August 2024 following two comments from a user.
Mandelieu and Mandavit parks in Gradignan
A very green circular loop, without concrete or tarmac, in Gradignan, very close to Bordeaux. Suitable in all seasons (paths are not muddy and there is shade). There are benches dotted along the route. There may be mosquitoes near the river (the Eau Bourde).
Circular country between Saint-Médard-d'Eyrans and Isle-Saint-Georges
A peaceful ride through the green countryside of the Gironde, with very few vineyards for a change, but woods, hay meadows and green pastures, as well as streams, marshes and esteys, thanks to its proximity to the Garonne.
Please note: a large part of the walk is on roads, so caution is advised
La Sauve-Majeure - from the abbey to the Château de Camiac
A slightly hilly, shortened route through woodland, meadows, a stud farm, horse paddocks and the beautiful Château de Camiac.
From Saint-Germain-de-la-Rivière to Tressac in a loop
Loop between the Dordogne and the Fronsadais hills, with landscapes of marshes and hedgerows, then vineyards and hillsides. Pass through the small port of Tressac and enjoy the view of Château de La Rivière.

Passage through Mediterranean-style shrubbery, not to mention a few beautiful castles...

Circular Martillac via the wine châteaux
This walk through the vineyards is notable for its many wine châteaux, an ancient church with a pure Romanesque choir, and its significant production of lily of the valley.
You will pass the Latour Martillac, Haut Nouchet and Cruzeau Martillac châteaux, located on the outskirts of the Bordeaux metropolitan area.
Martillac, an Aquitaine village in southern Gironde, belongs to the Pessac Leognan wine region, giving its wines a prestigious appellation.

Along the Eau Blanche from the Lac Bleu de Léognan
Discovery hike along the Eau Blanche stream. It rises in Lipomey, south-southeast of Léognan. It winds through the forest before crossing Léognan and heading towards Cadaujac and then Courrejan, where it flows into the Garonne.
The hike runs along the left bank of the vineyards of the Châteaux de France, Fieuzal and Le Sartre, Pessac-Léognan grands crus classés. On the way back, it runs along the right bank, crosses Mignoy, and passes near Château Chevaliner, another Pessac-Léognan grand cru classé.

An easy loop through vineyards and forest
Just half an hour from Bordeaux, Lac Beu de Léognan is hidden away in the middle of a forest park. It is a place much loved by families and other walkers for its bucolic setting and tranquillity.
