The Grosser Mythen from Holzegg
The Grosser Mythen is the iconic peak of the canton of Schwyz. The ascent, with its numerous hairpin bends, is quite steep all the way to the summit. This route is reserved for experienced hikers; it requires sure-footedness and a good level of fitness. Once at the summit, you’ll enjoy a superb view of the lakes of the Four Cantons, Zug and Ägeri, as well as the Alpine peaks.
Tour of the Grosser Mythen
The circuit around the Grosser Mythen offers a variety of landscapes. The descent towards Mythenbad is very green. The climb up to the pass separating the two Mythen peaks (Zwüschet Mythen) is quite steep but very well maintained. Once you reach Zwüschet Mythen, you’ll be treated to a breathtaking view of the Mythen massif.
Morschach - Vitznau
This second stage will take you from Morschach to Vitznau. As you cross Morschach, you can admire the Mythen, the two legendary peaks of the canton of Schwitz. This route offers many more views of the lake and the mountain ranges that surround it. At Brunnen, you will leave Lake Uri and follow the shores of Lake Lucerne. You will stop in the charming village of Vitznau, the departure point for the little train that climbs to the famous summit of the Rigi.
Einsiedeln - Unterägeri via the Alpenpanorama Weg
This stage will take you from Einsideln to Unterägeri. You will enjoy a superb view at the Chatzenstrick pass. You will descend to Unterägeri on the shores of Lake Ägeri via a ridge path.
Unterägeri - Cham via the Alpenpanorama Weg
This stage will take you from Unterägeri to Cham. You will gradually arrive at Lake Zug after a short climb to the Brunegg mountain pasture. On the way down, you will pass the pretty chapel of St. Verena. You can enjoy a lovely walk along the lake in Zug.
From Flüelen to Vitznau on the shores of Lake Lucerne
This two-day route will give you a glimpse of the beauty of Lake Lucerne. The route offers numerous viewpoints overlooking the lake. You will admire the Glockspiel de Tellsplatte, Switzerland's largest carillon. You will end this hike in Vitznau, a charming village and the starting point for the little train that climbs to the top of the Rigi.
Flüelen - Morschach
This first stage will take you from Flüelen to Morschach. Flüelen is located at the southern end of Lake Uri at the mouth of the Reuss. This route offers numerous views of the lake and the mountain ranges bordering it. On this route, you will discover the Glockspiel de Tellsplatte, the largest carillon in Switzerland. You will also admire the Tellskapelle chapel on the lake shore.
Vitznauerstock summit
Starting in Vitznau, climb to the summit of the Vitznauerstock/Gersauerstock for a superb view of Lake Lucerne.
From Rigi Kulm to Rigi Kaltbad-First
This short hike is mainly downhill after the ascent by train. The return journey can be made by train or cable car. This hike offers exceptional views of Lake Lucerne.
Trip to the Rigi, scenic walk from Rigi Kulm to Wolfertschen
A trip to the Rigi: depart from Arth-Goldau to Rigi Kulm by cogwheel train, then enjoy a scenic walk from Rigi Kulm to Wolfertschen-first. From there, you can take the train back to Krabel and ascend in a cable car to Rigi Scheidegg, or descend directly by train to Arth-Goldau.
The Klewenstock circuit
A very simple hike that takes you around the Klewenstock mountain. This walk allows you to admire the scenery and the flowers, with lovely little signs to help you learn to identify them!
From Pfäffikon to Rapperswil via the Holzbrücke Seedamm-Weg
This route starts in Pfäffikon (SZ) and leads to Rapperswil (SG) along a wide causeway that divides Lake Zurich into two parts. The first section follows wide gravel paths through a peaceful landscape. Up to Hurden, the path winds through meadows. From Hurden to Rapperswil, you’ll enjoy magnificent views of the lake as you walk along a series of wooden jetties. In Rapperswil, the path passes through a beautiful park leading to the historic town centre. The return journey can be made via the same route or by train (a train runs every half hour between Rapperswil and Pfäffikon).
Siebnen - Einsiedeln via the Alpenpanorama Weg
This stage will take you from Siebnen to Einsiedeln. After the long climb up the Stöcklichrüz, you will be rewarded with a magnificent view of Lake Zurich and the Sihlsee. At the Etzelpass, you will pass the St. Meinradskapelle chapel and the birthplace of Paracelsus. In Einsiedeln, a major pilgrimage site in Switzerland, don't miss a visit to the monastery.
Cham - Lucerne via the Alpenpanorama Weg
This stage will take you from Cham to Lucerne. The Michaelskreuz chapel offers a splendid view of Lake Lucerne. Gradually, as you walk along the Lucerne golf course, you will reach the shore of the Luzernersee. The magnificent lakeside promenade will take you to the old town near the famous Kappelbrücke.
Circular around Lake Türlersee
An accessible hike around Lake Türlen, pleasant in summer thanks to the coolness of the lake and forest. You will pass through different landscapes: a wetland area, forest, and the climb to the village offers beautiful views of Lake Zug, the Titlis summit, and Lake Lucerne. You will descend through meadows before arriving at the more touristy beach.
Aaschlucht from Engelberg
A hike along the adventure trail through the beautiful Aa Gorge from Engelberg to Grafenort railway station. As the gorge is very shady, the route is perfect for hot summer days.
Please note: One bridge on the route is currently destroyed (noted on 27 May 2026). A well-signposted diversion is in place, but this makes the hike around 100 m steeper and 2 km longer.
