Description of the walk

Start from Rigi Kulm station, the terminus of the train from Vitznau or Goldau.

(S) As you leave the train, head north-east towards a prominent antenna. Pass a hotel on your left and reach the antenna (panoramic view).

(1) Then turn left. Pass the hotel on your left and watch out for the rocky outcrops on the right. After a wide left-hand bend, you’ll reach a junction.

(2) Take a sharp right-hand bend and continue downhill through several bends until you reach Rigi Staffel station.

(3) Carry on straight ahead, passing a restaurant on your left, and watch out for the rocks on the right.

(4) At a fork in the road, keep right and descend more steeply. This will take you to Rigi Staffelhöhe station

(5) Continue along the path furthest to the right, passing a hotel on your left. Stay close to the edge of the slope and pass a cross. Then descend via a series of hairpin bends to reach a viewpoint.

(6) Then turn sharply left (south-east). Descend to Rigi Kaltbad-First station (E).

Return by train or by the cable car back down to Weggis.
