Valensole plateau on the Asse side
The Valensole plateau enjoys exceptional light and unique colours that shine particularly brightly in summer: fields of lavender, clary sage, wheat, olive trees and sunflowers against a backdrop of blue mountains attract many photographers.
Moderator's note: route modified on 21/06/2023 at points 4 to 6 to avoid Monroc, which is private property and off-limits despite thePR® sign.
The Gorges de Trévans, via the Chapelle Saint-André
Magnificent gorges, especially in autumn. The climb up to the Chapelle Saint-André is a 2km round trip, but the view from the top is well worth the diversions.
You will pass through the remains of the hamlet of Valbonnette. A little further on, another detour of around a hundred metres, to see the ruins of a house, where a large round pillar has remained in its centre, still with the notches used to fix the wooden beams on two levels.
Trévans Gorges via the château
Very beautiful hike to do between April and October.

The hike is not complicated and is accessible to all, but please take into account the comments mentioned in the Practical Information section.

Lac de Sainte-Croix - Tour de Bauduen
Here I suggest a variation on a route in Bauduen that is already on the site. The start is more easily accessible for hikers coming from the north. This variation also avoids the rocky area to the north-west of the route while offering beautiful views of Lake Sainte-Croix.

The area of Saint-Laurent-du-Verdon stretches from the riverbanks to the Valensole plateau. What a beautiful setting for a walk amidst the blue of the lavender fields and the blue of the lakes created by the construction of the Quinson dam.
