This is a lovely walk starting from the village of Sainte Croix; it is short and easy, offering superb views over the largest lake in the Lower Verdon. You’ll enjoy unobstructed views for most of the route.

The start

Description of the walk

Head back to the Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon water sports centre. There is a very large paid car park serving the centre, or a few spaces further up the road alongside the campsite.

(S/E) Head north-east and walk along Lake Sainte-Croix on the GRP®.

(1)At the “Ravin de Chabrier” junction, continue straight ahead (ignore the path on the left, which is the return route).

(2) When you reach “Paraloup”, turn left onto the Chemin des Muletiers and climb up to the plateau. There are lovely views of the lake.

(3) At the Carrefour des Muletiers, leave the GRP® and turn left onto a path marked in yellow. You’ll reach a fork in the path, just before a road, near a campsite.

(4) Turn left to descend to the “Ravin de Chabrier” point mentioned above.

(1) Then head right, following the route in reverse, to return to the water sports centre car park (S/E).

Not to mention a visit to the village of Baudinard-sur-Verdon.
