Park on the right bank of the Verdon, near Pont Sylvestre on the edge of the D211.
(S/E) Head towards Montpezat. Leave the road by climbing the embankment on the right and after 200 m, you will find theGR®®4(Chemin Saint-Pierre). Follow it to the right for a few metres and turn left onto the track that climbs towards the high-voltage line.
(1) Underneath the power line, turn right and follow the track. Just before the EDF pylon, take the track that descends to the right and rejoin theGR®®4.
(2) Follow it to the left for about 120 metres.
(3) Turn right onto the beach path and continue further along Chemin Saint-Pierre.
(4) At the end of the path, directly below the high-voltage power line, cross the Ravin de Saint-Pierre. Follow the track at the end of the reeds, depending on the water level. Otherwise, feel free to go a little further and continue to the right on the track that runs alongside the Gorges de Baudinard for about 2.6 km. At the end of the track, you will see the foundations of an old water collector in the form of a concrete staircase.
(5) Take the path on the right that descends towards the dam for about 100 metres until you reach a fork.
(6) Directly below the high-voltage power line, follow the track on the left that climbs up to a siren on a pole at a fork.
(7) Descend to the right to reach the viewpoint 100 metres away and enjoy the view of the dam.
(8) Turn back to the fork.
(7) Turn right and continue along the main track for about 900 m until you reach a Y-junction.
(9) Turn right onto the wide path and join theGR®®4trail at the corner of a cultivated field.
(10) Ignore theGR®® and continue straight ahead on the path that runs along the field on your left. Then follow the ridge straight ahead, north-west.
(11) Be careful at the top as the track deteriorates. At elevation 627, stay on the ridge to the left. Descend straight ahead, following the ridge to the cross-country path at the bottom of the valley.
(12) Turn left, ignore the first track on the left, and continue straight ahead into the Ravin de Saint-Pierre until you reach theGR®®4.
(13) Continue right on theGR®®4for about 100 m until you reach the fork in the road under the high-voltage power line.
(4) Continue along the track until you reach the fork you passed on the way there.
(3) Continue straight ahead on the track, in the opposite direction to the outward journey, for about 100 m until you reach the initial fork in the circular.
(2) Then turn left onto the track and quickly turn left onto the path that runs alongside the Verdon to Pont Sylvestre and back to the car park (S/E).
