Ourde walks

During this hike, you’ll walk through the woods and across the valley’s high ground. Discover Bramevaque Castle, built inthe 11th century, which was the cradle of the valley’s first feudal system. Perched on the rocky outcrop of Mont Sacon, it faces Mount Gert, whose south-western face features a remarkable cliff. The cliffs of Troubat are well-known and highly regarded by climbing enthusiasts, a must-visit for any climber exploring the Pyrenees. As you follow this limestone ridge, you will also come across an old quarry. Enjoy the restorative tranquillity of Lake Mauléon-Barousse before returning to the starting point.

A short, mostly shaded hike starting from the beautiful village of Mauléon-Barousse. The path is marked from start to finish (yellow markings). You can go to the Gouffre de la Saoule and admire the waterfalls.

A pleasant hike from the village of Sacoué, through the Bois du Mont Sacon (or Saqueton). Cool in summer and sheltered in winter, the entire route is through the forest. At the summit, a sheltered orientation table has been built on an ancient sanctuary consisting of the remains of votive altars from the Gallo-Roman period, possibly dedicated to Jupiter, and currently preserved at the Saint-Raymond Museum in Toulouse. Breathtaking view all the way to Aneto.

The commune of Antichan has a mountain climate and is drained by various small streams. It has a remarkable natural heritage comprising two natural areas of ecological, faunistic and floristic interest and several built heritage sites.

This family hike can be done in summer but also in winter with snowshoes. There are no difficulties on this route. The hike takes place in shaded undergrowth along a track and then a well-marked path with a steady gradient. Once you reach the summit, you will find a magnificent orientation table and an extraordinary 360° panorama overlooking the Comminges and Barousse mountains and the Tarbes plain.

Starting from Les Granges de Crouhens, after Ferrère, this circular walk will take you through part of the Barousse Forest. With a bit of luck, you may spot deer, which are quite numerous in this forest.

Siradan, Salechan, Thèbe. A short walk in the forest, in the shade if it's sunny and sheltered if it rains.

This hike can be done with or without snow... On the evening of 13 July 1944, seven British and Canadian airmen from the Royal Air Force took off to resupply the Nistos maquis. The Halifax aircraft crashed into the Pic du Douly. The airmen did not survive and were buried on site. Debris from the aircraft is still visible today. All this calls for silence and contemplation...

This hike takes you through lush green undergrowth, offering total immersion in the forest. The climb is accessible and pleasant, perfect for a leisurely stroll. Along the way, you will go around the first hill in the Bois de Sarp, enjoying the forest landscapes and the surrounding tranquillity. You will find information boards to help you learn more about the flora and fauna you encounter, and you can also admire a magnificent view of Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges. You can continue on your way to a second hill, the Sarrat, which offers a new perspective on the forest and its surroundings.

A beautiful ridge hike offering superb views of the Aure Valley, to be done on foot or with snowshoes. No fewer than four peaks along the route, a real rollercoaster ride in the Pyrenees.

A hike without too much elevation gain that leads to Pic de Mont Aspet (1,849 m), where you will have a magnificent 360° view.

A very pretty early winter circuit to be done on foot or snowshoes depending on the snow conditions. Its good south-eastern exposure allows you to walk in the sun, which is appreciated in cold weather. A very picturesque hike through the village, beautiful beech forests and the sumptuous panorama from the summit.

This pretty loop was the mountain biking training ground of our local champion Élodie, French junior champion in 2001 and 2002. On foot, you will have time to enjoy this route, which will take you to viewpoints overlooking the valley, where you may be lucky enough to spot numerous deer in this area.

This hike, which has no major difficulties, will be great fun to do in autumn in the midst of an explosion of colour. You'll discover superb beech forests, impressive pidgeon hunting huts, a beautiful view of the Pic du Cagire, the Garonne valley and the first Pyrenean peaks dominating the Barousse.

A lovely walk in a wooded area, suitable all year round except during periods of heavy rain. A family hike that can be done as a round trip from Barbazan to the Refuge Saint-Martin. Reminder: the route is mainly through woodland.

An easy hike through beech forests, including the winner of the 2014 "Remarkable Trees" competition, and along forest roads. View of Pic de Burat on the way up and Pic du Gar on the way down. Picnic possible at the Contraire hut halfway along the route.

Belvédère du Mont Né (Mont Né viewpoint) is a fitting name for this mountain, as the views you will discover throughout this hike are breathtaking. In good weather, this route does not present any major difficulties. What's more, you will start from Port de Balès, a famous stage of the Tour de France.

The Mont Né circular route from the Port de Balès offers breathtaking views of the Pyrenean peaks: from the Ariège peaks to the summits of Néouvielle and the Pic du Midi de Bigorre. The route then continues along the Crêtes de Pal, passing through the Port de Pierrefite and the Pic du Lion to reach the summit of the Pic du Montious, the highest point of the hike. The descent to Lac de Bareilles is a chance to relax. On the way back, you’ll come across cows and goats along the path.

A beautiful hike that can be done with the family and children who are used to walking, starting from the well-known Port de Balès (altitude 1755 m) (Tour de France cycling race). The summit of Mont Né (altitude 2,147 metres) offers beautiful views of the central Pyrenees and the magnificent Lac de Bordères or Lac de Bareilles. From Pic du Lion (altitude 2,102 metres), there is a safe aerial path along the Crête de la Coume du Lion. The cromlech at Port de Pierrefite is also worth noting.

A fantastic panoramic hike, winding its way between Haute-Garonne and the Hautes-Pyrénées, with the ascent of Mont Né and Lac de Bordères as the destination.

If you enjoy spotting chamois, this route will be right up your street. It offers a splendid view of Aneto and the Luchonnais peaks.

This magnificent walk above Baren allows you to discover the mountain pastures, deciduous forests and a spectacular panorama of the legendary 3,000-metre peaks of the Central Pyrenees: Anéto, Maladeta, Maupas, Crabioules, Perdiguère, Posets, Quayrat, Lézat, Gougs Blancs, Spijeoles, Schrader... The Cabane de la Plagnette and its surroundings, a "true paradise for hikers", provide a pleasant approach for climbing Burat and the border peaks.

Circular route around Sauveterre-de-Comminges via theGR® 86 and a few paths nestled in the agricultural landscapes of the Commingeois region, dotted with woodland, with a few views of the Pyrenees at the end of the route.

During this walk, the great Bouchère Wood will be your companion. This hike takes you to explore the neighbouring “Ores” valley. Starting from Montsérié, a village rich in archaeological finds, it passes through beautiful Old Forests. An “Old Forest” is an ancient, mature forest: that is to say, it has been continuously forested since at least the mid-19th century. You will also discover Bayelle de Gazave, a vast and beautiful high-altitude clearing, surrounded by mountains.
