By car, drive through the village towards the top, continue straight ahead and park at Place des Molles. At the eastern end of this small square, you will see two signs for hikers, an old water mill undergoing restoration and a micro biodiversity area. Nowadays, it is best to park on arrival at the entrance to the village, on your right:
-1) Car park at the statue of the goddess of water.
-2) "Simone" car park
(S/E) Take Rue de la Bayle for about 50 metres, then continue straight ahead on the dirt track (GR®86). Continue straight ahead until you reach a fork in the road at Soueste. The route is easy to follow, but be sure to follow the red and white markings to avoid getting lost at certain junctions. The slope is gentle and you will cross two streams.
(1) At Soueste, enjoy a beautiful view of the valley from the Notre-Dame chapel.
Leave the GR®86 and turn right at the foot of the basin (where you can fill your water bottle).
(2) Ignore the path downhill on your right and continue straight ahead to reach two hairpin bends under the beech trees that lead to the forest track.
(3) Turn right and follow this forest track to a grassy plateau.
(4) At the end of this plateau, take thefirst path downhill on the right and join another plateau called Castelfort.
(5) The path turns sharply to the right, heading north. Before starting the entirely paved descent to the village of Burgalays, take the time to stop on the small hill on the left in the narrow passageway at the height of the cable blocking the passage of livestock in summer. You will then be in front of a splendid panorama, with a view to the north over the villages of the valley and the Pic du Gard. Continue the descent carefully on the wet cobblestones and return to the Place d'es Molles (S/E).
