Moussan walks
The Gailhousty spillway
This two- to three-hour walk takes you to the Gailhousty site, where you can discover a number of structures of great architectural quality. Their function is linked to the danger of flooding from the River Aude, which has always been a threat. This part of the Canal de Jonction was built in the river's floodplain. The floods of 1999 prompted decision-makers to build the dykes that are part of the scenery along this route.
Strolling around Narbonne
A discovery walk in the historic centre of Narbonne, with a stroll along the Canal de la Robine (a branch of the Canal du Midi), followed by a wander through the streets to discover the city's iconic monuments, such as the Archbishop's Palace, Saint-Juste and Saint-Pasteur Cathedral, the Pont des Marchands, the Maison des Trois Nourrices, not to mention the superb market halls.
The Combe d'Enfer in the Massif de Fontfroide
You'll discover part of the Massif de Fontfroide between the Domaine de Jonquières and the Abbaye de Fontfroide (visit possible), thanks to the many DFCI trails closed to motor vehicle traffic. The demanding section of the Combe d'Enfer should be walked with care, or even avoided after rain. An alternative route, described in the practical information section, allows you to bypass this tricky section.
The Répudre Canal Bridge at the start of Paraza
The Pont-Canal du Répudre bridge is the highlight of this circular route starting from Paraza towards the Minervois vineyards and the Jardin de Bacchus, near the Pouzols-Minervois cooperative winery. Before that, the passage through Sainte-Valière brings a hint of Saint-Jacques with a section of the Camin Romieu. Due to its location on the route, this Languedoc village is an essential stop for pilgrims looking for an enriching break on the Voie des Piémonts.
Tour of Pech-Céleyran - Moulin du Pech
A stroll starting the Coursan community hall between the Aude River and Pech-Céleyran. Lovely views of the plains, the Montagne Noire and the Pyrenees, from the peak. Passing by the Moulin du Pech mill.
From Bize-Minervois to Montouliers
This route offers magnificent views. Depart from Bize-Minervois via the D5 departmental road, known as "La Minervoise".

Le Roc Tremblaïre
Between Aude and Hérault, this route alternates between flat and steep paths, crossing hills and plateaus between Bize-Minervois and Montouliers. On a balcony overlooking the Cesse valley, via the Travers de Verdeyre, let's set off to discover the Roc Tremblaïre before stopping at Montouliers for a break near its famous Roman fountain. The return journey, following a section ofthe GR®78combined with a Saint-Jacques slip road, allows you to overlook the Argeliers plain before arriving at Bize-Minervois.
Rossignol Mill at Armissan and the Marmorières Dovecot circuit
Hike in the mountains of La Clape overlooking the Pyrenees, the Black Mountain and the Mediterranean. See the “Rossignol” (nightingale) mill of Armissan, and then enjoy views at the orientation table at Vinassan, and finally Marmorières Domaine’s chapel’s dovecot.
Vierge de Cruque via the belvedere and Combe Mâle
The route consists of two small circular loops:
1 - Discover the town of Narbonne by climbing up to the orientation table via a pretty path. You will descend via the spectacular little road, the "Chemin de la Couleuvre".
2 - At the start of the Combe Mâle, at the foot of the wild climbing cliffs (50 routes according to the FFME). After a steep climb through the vegetation, you will descend gently towards the magical Vierge de Cruque.
You can climb up to discover the cave located under the statue.
Fontfroide Massif
A loop from the magnificent Abbaye de Fontfroide in the massif of the same name. There are 360° views of the Corbières, the Pyrenees and the Aude coastline.
With no major difficulties, the route only takes in the DFCI paths of this highly protected massif.
Short circular loop on the heights of Bize-Minervois.
A circular loop that takes you alternately through vineyards, heath and undergrowth. All dotted with some beautiful views of the Pyrenees and the Mivervois plain.
From Bages to Les Pesquis
A short, easy loop west of the small village of Bages in the Aude department. This walk through wild olive trees, maritime pines and heathland offers splendid views of the lake and surrounding villages. You will discover varied landscapes with shaded areas, wide paths and very narrow trails.
The Clape plateaus
This hike, which starts from the road (Chemin de la Couleuvre), will allow you to discover the Massif de la Clape from a different angle, passing by springs, karstic caves and caves.
The Pech de Thou and the château de Carasses
A tranquil hike graded moderate for the distance and altitude gain. Most of the hike is on tarmac roads. Some nice views along all of the route, especially at the water tower where you can see Capestang, the lake and further away, Narbonne and the Pyrenean mountain range. Also Béziers, Puisserguier and further away, the Haut-Languedoc hills.
In the Cruzy gorges
As you follow the course of the Nazoure river through two gorges, Sainte-Foi and, above all, Marie Close.
From the Mandirac Lock to Sainte-Lucie Island
When staying in Gruissan, Sainte-Lucie Island is a must-see place for a walk, with the added bonus of swimming at the Vieille Nouvelle beach.
The Virgin of Cruque from the Domaine de l'Hospitalet
This hike follows paths and tracks that often cross heaths before reaching a pretty forest overlooking the Domaine de la Ricardelle. The route then runs parallel (via an uphill path) to the Chemin de la Couleuvre, allowing you to reach the antennas and enjoy a beautiful view. The return journey, which begins in the direction of the Domaine du Puech Redon, follows paths and tracks once again.This route is largely unmarked but well known to hikers as it follows a path that passes close to the cave, dominated by a statue of the Virgin of Cruque erected in 1915, and other routes in La Clape, fairly close to Notre-Dame-des-Auzils.
Discovering the Massif de la Clape
Just a few minutes from the beaches of Gruissan, the Massif de la Clape is an unspoilt haven of peace. This discovery trail winds its way through the vineyards of its renowned terroir, winding its way between rugged limestone cliffs and narrow canyons, where kermes oaks and Aleppo pines share the landscape. Finally, the Vigie and the Chapelle des Auzils offer hikers two exceptional views of the coastline... and far beyond.

Nissan-lez-Enserune, its mills, its Parazols bridge, located on the Roman road, then on the royal road. Walk in a site offering a vast panorama, stretching from the mountains (Caroux, Montagne Noire) to the Mediterranean Sea.

Around the Étang du Doul
This easy, short hike is a loop around the Étang du Doul. It starts in the picturesque village of Peyriac-de-Mer, located between Narbonne and Sigean. Wine growing, fishing and tourism are the main activities here. During the walk, you will pass the Étangs de la Saline, Étangs du Doul, Étangs de Bages and Étangs de Sigean. From the heights, you can admire a splendid view of Bages and La Nautique.

La Grande Capoulade
The Grande Capoulade trail allows you to discover La Clape from the Gruissan side, offering a double view of the Bages and Gruissan lagoons.
This hike follows the marked route on site, which is different from the one shown on the IGN map.

The treasures of Les Caunes in the Massif de la Clape
You will discover the splendours of Mont des Caunes, located in the Clape massif opposite Gruissan. There are beautiful cliffs for climbing, caves to see and others to visit, a chasm and the small Rec gorge for geology enthusiasts. Magnificent views and interesting historical remains... The route is not very well signposted on site.

Loop on the heights of Vialanove
A short circuit starting from the hamlet of Paguignan will take you through vineyards and woods, passing successively through the hamlets of Cailhol and Vialanove. On the return circuit, there is a protected cave where bats nest.

Circular in La Clape
Plenty of great views of the coast, Gruissan, the ponds and Canigou. The route follows some of the marked trails but focuses on ascents and descents.
Circulate the Muscat vineyards of Saint-Jean-de-Minervois
Discover the famous Muscat vineyards of Saint-Jean-de-Minervois. This circuit moves out of the hamlet of Paguignan leading onto the plateau of Saint John and then descends to the Cesse Valley to join Agel and its Castle, which is listed as a Historical Monument. The route then continues in the direction of Cassidy and then reaches the starting point.
The Gruissan Pond, La Capoulade and the Barberousse Tower
Gruissan is a seaside resort in Languedoc that has managed to retain the charm of its roots. This hike takes you on a journey of discovery around the Étang de Gruissan with a walk along the water's edge where you can explore the wetland ecosystem. A trip to the foothills of the Clape massif around the Capoulade estate offers enchanting panoramic views. Finally, stroll through old Gruissan and visit the Barberousse Tower to round off a wonderful day.
Causse circuit starting from La Caunette
This beautiful hike offers stunning views of the Coupiat, Fendaille and Trémenal gorges. The route is fully signposted, presents no major difficulties and can be shortened at various points if necessary.
The Megaliths of Minerve
This hike, at the start of La Caunette, will take you above Minerva and will let you discover the megaliths scattered along the route. You'll criss-cross vines, scrubland composed of gorse, thyme, brush, evergreen oak trees and the odd wood.
Plage des Chalets - Île Saint-Martin
A pleasant family ride with beautiful views of the Plage des Chalets, the salt marshes and flamingos, the vineyards, the Étang de Gruissan, the old town and the Tour de Barberousse. Ideal in the early morning, after admiring the sunrise over the Plage des Chalets.
The Cirque de Viviès via the Plat de l'Aven
Starting from Thézan-des-Corbières, this hike through pine trees and heathland leads to the natural amphitheatre of the Cirque de Viviès, a geological curiosity of the Corbières. After a somewhat challenging descent to the wild valley floor, the landscape opens up and vineyards appear everywhere. At the end of the route, the magnificent Château de Caraguilhes wine estate is a tempting invitation to end the day on a delicious note.
