A circular route starting from Le Ruxelier, above Cheniménil. Much of it runs through mixed woodland (deciduous and coniferous), which is particularly enjoyable in warm weather and at autumn. The route passes through the Maquis du Haut du Bois, established on 24 July 1944; the poorly armed Resistance fighters were attacked by the German army on 9 September 1944. Ten Maquis fighters lost their lives, several were wounded, but the majority managed to escape to the nearby Massif du Fossard.

On 9 September 1944, this maquis of around thirty people was attacked by German forces. Following their leader's order to retreat, more than 20 were saved, but 10 lost their lives.
