Starting point: La Haute Verrière, Lépanges-sur-Vologne
(S/E) From our arrival point, turn right and follow the road for 200 metres.
(1) Turn left into a beautiful beech forest, towards the Faîte cross.
(2) After the information sign about the forests you are passing through, continue left on the forest path and then, in the bend, 200 metres further on, go down the path on the left. It zigzags right for 100 metres, left for 200 metres, and don't miss a steep and fairly long descent on the left. At the bottom, turn right and you will soon find yourself on a wider forest road.
(3) At the next intersection, near a small stream, turn right and then left. You will come to the hamlet of Void de la Borde, in the commune of Viménil. Cross it and continue along this paved road. You will have a wide view of the Lorraine plateau and then of the village of Viménil, nestled among the fields.
(4) Before the playground and information signs, turn left into the forest (there is a picnic table here).
(5) As soon as you see the farm in the clearing of Basse Verrière, turn left and go uphill. At the top, at the crossroads, turn right and then soon left and you will find yourself on a forest path.
(6) Follow this path to the right, slightly uphill. At the picnic area, you will find the path that leads to the Marie spring. Continue your climb at a leisurely pace. You will be accompanied by deciduous trees (oaks and beeches) and conifers (fir, spruce and even larch).
(7) At this intersection, turn left and stay on this forest track until you reach the top. There is a short flat section before you reach the Haute Verrière clearing (S/E).
