Park in the car park at the Haute Jarrie lake.
The paths in the Haute-Jarrie forest are well signposted with numerous information boards.
(S/E) Cross the road to enjoy the observation points and educational panels at the Haute Jarrie pond. Begin the circular route by walking along the pond and its reed bed. Reach the end of the pond and the dead-end road that leads to Château-Neuf.
(1) Note that there are two options here:
- if the weather permits and the field on the left is neither cultivated nor occupied, you can cross it to rejoin the yellow marked path, turn right onto this path to reach the Champ Courbat crossroads,
- otherwise, turn back to reach thePR® shortly after the car park, turn right and continue to Champ Courbat.
(2) Here too, there are two possibilities:
- either turn right to go directly to the Combe de la Gouderie crossroads,
- or continue straight ahead, which is the route taken, to reach a crossroads with several directions marked by the La Carrière sign.
(3) Gently climb the large forest path that branches off to the right. You will soon reach the La Traverse sign. Continue straight ahead, ignoring the two paths that branch off to the right and left. You will reach the Frettes crossroads.
(4) Continue straight ahead, ignoring the paths that branch off to the right and left. You will reach the Temple crossroads.
Note: to shorten the walk, you can turn right, which leads directly to the Combe de la Gouderie crossroads.
(5) Turn right and continue through the woods. At the La Chevauchée sign, keep left to reach the Combe de la Gouderie crossroads.
(6) Continue straight ahead until you reach the Plassoney sign, then join the tarmac road that climbs up to the Haute Jarrie antenna, which can be seen above the trees on the left.
Turn right to descend towards the lake, enjoying beautiful views of the Belledonne mountain range on your left along the way.
At the roundabout, turn right. Be careful as you walk along the busy C3 road for a few metres, then head to the Haute-Jarrie pond car park (S/E).
