The ridge of Lake Sainte-Suzanne
From the lake, the forest track and then steep steps lead us to the Rocher de Brauch, whose ridge overlooks the expanse of water of Lake Sainte-Suzanne, commonly known as Lake Carcès. This panorama offers a peaceful setting in the heart of Provence Verte. A long forest path and then a trail take us back to the lake shore. The Visorando app may be useful on one section.
Notre-Dame des Anges
A beautiful hike in the Maures mountains, with the ascent of Notre-Dame des Anges. The 360° panorama includes views of the Hyères islands, the Collobrières valley, the Maures plain and Sainte-Baume.
Grotte des Résistants (Resistance Cave) from Vins-sur-Caramy
A walk on the eastern heights of Vins-sur-Caramy, pleasant in summer as it is often shaded by trees. It also allows you to visit the Grotte des Résistants, a key location for the local resistance during theSecond World War.
The Thoronet Abbey Circular
A circular starting from Thoronet Abbey, allowing you to visit it. Through vineyards, forests and pretty, peaceful hamlets on tracks, paths and small country roads.
From Thoronet Abbey to Sainte-Suzanne Lake or Carcès
This route takes you from the Cistercian Abbey of Thoronet to Lac de Carcès via trails through a typical Var forest with holm oaks, kermes oaks and rosemary. Along the way, you can see the red bauxite soil and enjoy views overlooking Lac de Carcès and the vineyards. There is an alternative route down to the lake where you can take a break at the open-air café.
Le Cannet - Entraygues
Vieux Cannet des Maures, a village of character that is well worth a visit. Entraygues, its inaccessible Saint-Michel cave chapel and the natural arches of the Argens. Following a joint decision (operator, municipalities, etc.), the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Conservatory of Natural Areas has therefore prohibited access to this cave chapel. Tour of the Oppidum de Meren in Le Cannet des Maures
Short hike in the Provençal countryside before climbing up to see the remains of the Oppidum de Meren and ending with a magnificent view of Vieux Cannet and the Argens plain.
Circular loop above Puget-Ville.
This short hike takes you along a section ofthe GR®9above Puget-Ville. It offers beautiful views of the plain stretching to the sea, as well as the Massif des Maures.
Les Manjas de Perus
A circular on the heights of Le Thoronet takes you through vineyards, olive groves and hamlets to the banks of the Argens river, where you can take a break in the cool. The name of the route is known as "Manjas de Perus", which translates as "wild pear eaters", linked to the poverty of the isolated hamlets.
The Château le Castellas in Forcalqueiret
A walk in the hills of Forcalqueiret Castle: Le Castellas.
As access to the ruins has been prohibited since 2017, this circuit brings together several pleasant trails that reveal the castle from different angles.
Font de Luc trail and Source Règue de Robert
This PR®-marked route will take you from the village of Les Douvilles to the Rabouchon bars, where you can enjoy panoramic views. You will pass by the12th-century Tour du Faucon and the Défens de la Tour.
Tour of Carcès via the lake
Tour of Carcès via the lake, passing by the Notre-Dame de Caramy chapel, the waterfalls, the lake, the heights of Brauch and back through the village.

The Caramy Waterfalls
A lovely little walk along a path that runs alongside a small canal and leads to the magnificent Caramy Waterfalls.
Carcés and Caramy Falls
This hike will visit the village of Carcés, Carcés Lake and the splendid Caramy Falls. Best in the spring when the water flow is stronger.
You also will take a part of the path of Saint Jacques de Compostela.
Ruins of Saint-Sauveur
An easy, short walk to discover the ruins of the feudal castle of Saint-Sauveur above Rocbaron.

Le Trou du Bœuf starting from Rocbaron
A beautiful "wild" hike on the ridges of Puget-Ville, then the "Thèmes" trail.
The Col de la Bigue and the Rossignol from the Sainte-Philomène Chapel
This hike, which starts at the Sainte-Philomène Chapel, offers beautiful views of the plain to the east as far as the Hyères Islands. To the south-west, beyond the Col de la Bigue, it is bordered by the Cuers hills.
The Vallon de Cavaillon
A short, invigorating hike that first climbs the Vallon de Cavaillon through the forest to the foot of the Amarron, then joins the Bois de Garéoult for a pleasant descent through oak undergrowth. Can be completed as a circular hike in two hours at a good pace.
Pierrefeu - La Portanière
A beautiful hike, a little difficult due to the steep inclines, but which leads to splendid panoramic views in the Forêt des Maures.
Discovering Montfort-sur-Argens
This is an ideal short route to aid digestion and discover the diversity of the Montfort-sur-Argens area: vineyards, olive trees, terraces, huts, heath and forest, stone paths and red earth tracks. I love the diversity of this route, not to mention the views of the village, the Petit and Gros Bessillon hills. The start and finish of the route allow you to explore the picturesque streets of the old village. No particular difficulty.
Le Fédon via the Sauvecanne and Les Vidaux ridges
Thefirst half of this hike is a variation of the Pierrefeu - La Portanière hike published on this website. Take the Chemin de Sauvecanne to reach the southern ridge of the Vallon Loubier. Join the ridge trail and take the Piste du Fédon.
The return journey presents no particular difficulties and the scenery is magnificent.
Lac des Escarcets
An easy walk in the Massif des Maures. Beautiful trails, rivers, streams, lakes and unique terrain.
Not to mention the cork oaks, characteristic of the massif, and a varied flora (dwarf irises, anemones, orchids, etc.).

Mont Cuit via the Grande Muraille
This route offers views of most of the peaks of Provence with the Alps in the background.
Chapelle Saint-Cyriaque and Notre-Dame de Paracol at the start of the Val
Starting from Le Val, this circular route north of the village passes by the Saint-Cyriaque Chapel and then takes a detour to the magnificent 360° viewpoint from the Notre-Dame de Paracol Chapel. The return journey is via the Vallon des Flammes valley and then the vineyards.

The Grande Traversée des Maures: Collobrières - La Garde-Freinet
The Grande Traversée des Maures, Montem Maurum described in the Middle Ages, has never been attempted. This "diagonal of the Maures" allows us to discover magnificent Provençal landscapes. Varied, wild vegetation and exceptional views punctuate this route, which starts in Collobrières (capital of the Maures) and leads to La Garde Freinet, the highest village in the Massif des Maures.
Loop between Entrecasteaux and Saint-Antonin-du-Var
The village of Entrecasteaux developed around a beautiful medieval castle in the Bresque Valley.
The hike begins in front of the beautiful garden attributed to Le Nôtre at the foot of the medieval castle. After reaching the top of the village, it follows beautiful tracks and paths towards Saint-Antonin-sur-Var. It then climbs towards the ridge north of Entrecasteaux to reach the Défens de Valpaironne viewpoint.
The menhirs of the Lambert Plateau from Collobrières
A very pleasant loop trail allowing you to visit the menhirs of the Plateau de Lambert, dating from between 5,000 and 7,000 years ago. There is a majestic chestnut tree stump near the forest house. This almost thousand-year-old chestnut tree stump is attributed to Madame de Sévigné, who came to the Plateau Lambert farm to relax and recharge her batteries at the foot of the chestnut trees. It burned down in the 1980s.
Circular route between Mentone and Entrecasteaux starting from Saint-Antonin-du-Var
Hike mainly through the woods of Menton and Entrecasteaux.
Through the narrow streets and memories of Pierrefeu-du-Var
Nestled against a rocky peak, Pierrefeu-du-Var reveals itself as a Provençal gem at the gateway to the Massif des Maures. This picturesque village invites you to stroll through its narrow streets, where every stone seems to whisper history. The route naturally leads to the site of Sainte-Croix, the spiritual and historical cradle of the commune.
Canal, lock, apié and lime kiln in Correns
A short walk in Correns to discover its canal, the inclined plane on the right bank of the Argens, its apié and its lime kiln. It bears witness to the traces left by our ancestors with the practice of trades that have now disappeared.
The Menhirs of the Lambert Plateau from the Croix d'Anselme
A short loop in the heart of the Maures forest to admire the Menhirs de Lambert. Part of the route is on a paved road (but closed to traffic) and wide forest tracks.
Chartreuse de la Verne and Plateau Lambert

The Saint-Ferréol Hermitage in Lorgues and its fitness trail
A very beautiful short hike through the undergrowth, taking half of the fitness trail and part of the nature discovery trail.
The Bees of Cuers
This is a walk I'm really enjoying at the moment with flowers along the route and a view of the Barres de Cuers.
There's little difficulty, the false-flat is long, after the hives on the descent, so be aware.
The hives are magnificent.
Barre de Cuers
A beautiful hike, with a good climb and a superb view of the heights. It's a shame about the end, 30 minutes of tarmac...
Notre-Dame de Santé in Cuers
A short climb to the Chapelles Sainte-Christine and the Chapelle Notre-Dame de Santé with its sundial on the ground. This is also an opportunity to discover part of old Cuers and the various wash houses along the way.
The Vallon des Baumes and the Val Obscur
In the heart of the Vallon Sourn, where the Argens river winds its way, this short circular walk will take you through the Défens forest near Les Bessillon, via the Vallon des Baumes and the Val Obscur.
At the end of the walk, a refreshing dip in the Argens will do you good.
Summit of the Ermitage from the Chartreuse de la Verne
A short loop with superb views, to be done before or after visiting the charterhouse.
